I loved the prologue of the empty man. Wished the whole movie was that good!

That prologue was fantastic indeed! I personally really liked the movie up until the third act (the scene where Lasombra is chased by the cult in the woods being the high point), but I do understand that it might not be everyone's cup of tea.

Would older horror 🎥 series like Hellraiser , Scream and even Phantasm be considered epic and Grand horror?

That's a great question! I haven't watched Phantasm so I can't offer an opinion on that movie, but regarding the others: Scream feels very self-contained so I wouldn't consider that grand horror; Hellraiser, on the other side, could possibly fit into the genre, the premise is bonkers and out of this world, but it is somewhat contained to the Cottons so it's tough for me to pass judgment. Ultimately, I think it's more about the scope of the story - where it leads the characters and the size of the threat they face.

I had to pause The Empty Man midway through to gather myself bc of how strange I began to feel. I suppose it could be bc of how unique the story is and how it was presented that I don't have a baseline...but the level of unease was enough for me, a horror fan with a presumably higher threshold for that content, to pause the movie! That says a lot.
