Meh it's still an exothermic chemical reaction that results in plasma, in most cases it would be just a distinction without a difference. But ya scientifically speaking fire is a specific type of chemical reaction and the sun dosen't produce that type of reaction.

@lancekeith7900 2 жыл бұрын
No, this is blatantly false, thehidden23. The sun is absolutely *not* a fire, and you already got it wrong with your first false equivocation: calling the sun an exothermic *chemical* reaction. It is "nuclear* fusion. Given that *hydrogen,* the *overwhelming majority* (91%) of the sun is flammable, if the sun was made of fire, then *all its hydrogen would've been chemically burnt out as fuel by now.* Fire chemically combusts a certain type of fuel (i.e. hydrogen), whereas the sun uses the *same element* to produce nuclear fusion and create longlasting heat and light that *fire inherently cannot sustain long-term like the sun can.* Fire would *burn up the hydrogen fuel until there was nothing left to burn* and, thus, inevitably die. The sun, on the other hand, is *not* a chemical reaction, nor chemically combusting anything. It's *engaging in nuclear fusion.* *Huge* difference. Next point: the sun does not have a sufficient amount of oxygen (I mean, it has more atoms than the entire size of Earth, but by proportion, its percentage is low) to match, or at least (like helium) be a significant, notable minority to complement the hydrogen in the sun. Fire *needs* oxygen, and the sun does not have enough of it for that. Third, related to the chemical reaction point, *there is not chemical reaction going on in the sun.* Its helium (which is not even an element of fire) is *not chemically reacting or bonding* with its hydrogen, and as I addressed earlier, neither is its oxygen, as it doesn't even have enough oxygen for that in the first place. So, no, the sun is not a "chemical reaction," does not burn, and is *entirely* different from fire.

The sun consist of mostly hydrogen and hydrogen fuse together to form helium and that nuclear fusion process make the sun stable by making a force opposite to gravity.The hydrogen only fuse because the sun have enough mass for gravity to pressure its core thus making hydrogen fuse.Jupiter is failed star and it doesn't have enough mass so not having enough gravity to make fusion of hydrogen in the core!!
