The super glue idea that not many people know about
In this video, I did a lot of repairs using super glue and powder from ashes. Super glue is a very suitable material for repairing small plastic tools. Most people know how to fix using super glue and baking soda.

They come in packs now of 3 or 4 very small tubes. The tubes contain more glue than most people will ever use before an opened tube dries, so you're actually paying 1/4 of what you would normally pay for the same number of uses. Just search for "small super glue" there were even some available nearby in google shopping for me

I've used this a few times only baking soda instead of ash. It's good for making weird shapes things with holes in them that have a tendency to snap off. I fixed a drawer hinge in my fridge by using a metal rod for the broken plastic pin and then layering it up with baking soda /super glue and sanding it to shape afterwards. It's best if the fix is hidden though. This trick works awesome but doesn't look awesome without a LOT of work to make it match.

Dude, usually with these types of videos, there's nothing new under the sun. However, as you've already stated, most people use baking soda. I've gotta say, I never considered using ash. Interestingly, the crazy glue reacted with the ash, causing an exothermic reaction. I never would've guessed that outcome with ash. Thanks for opening my mind & assisting my future fixes!

To repair a fingernail, put a bit of split sheet toilet paper over the break, and soak it in super glue. Works a treat, just file it into shape after it's set. I learned of this back in the early 2000s. My car's radiator cracked open in the middle of my journey to another district. I had already covered 150km with 100km to reach my destination (no garage nearby). A mere local man who happening to be passing by asking what the problem was and I explaining, he simply asked me to get him super glue from a nearby shop that was just a few meters away plus some flour. I hesitated thinking he crazy (NOTE: he was also in a drunken state)... I mean, how could I trust or take him seriously. With zero ideas and no sensible/viable solutions, I reluctantly entertained his proposed idea buying a few tubes of super glue and asked one of the locals for a handful of flour. After about 50 minutes of repair and drying up, I was on my way. The fix was solid, and it held up for 4 months... and this is a car doing daily 100km plus distance.

CA glues (superglues) react with cellulose that is used to make cigarette filters. As for the baking soda CA mix Google says...Chemically, the bicarbonate molecules in baking soda react with cyanoacrylate to create a reactive ion that more easily bonds with other cyanoacrylate molecules. These bonds establish long, polymer chains that are stronger and more resilient than cyanoacrylate-water bonding. I think the ash also being a base does the same thing.

Basically any material that increases the surface area of the CA fluid; cloth, dust, powders, twine, cotton balls, etc., etc. Increase the exposure of the CA fluid to the humidity in the air and decrease the dry time while, depending on the material used, adding a structural element to the glue. Baking soda, a fine powder that itself absorbs moisture from the air, seems to work remarkably well. Looking forward to this "craze" of videos dying out soon.

Interesting. For a darker color 'baking soda + super glue' effect... You can use GRAPHITE powder (the stuff you use for making lock cilinders move smoothly). Becomes quite black. Equally hard. Takes about 10-30 seconds for the reaction to kick in, so you have some time to adjust still.
