I once took a tour of Oklahoma State Penitentiary. They have a maximum security unit called H-Unit, and in all honesty it’s worse than ADX. The cells have no windows, it’s underground, the walls are unpainted, and the cells are poorly lit. I’d rather do time at ADX.

Im from Southern CO and have drove from Pueblo to Salida a few times and there are signs when you enter freemont county that say dont pick up hitchhikers cuz that whole county is a fucking prison hell hole. Literally even Cañon City is if youre a minority cuz there is unconfirmed kkk activity in the area after dark at times (but being the former kkk hotspot for that area of the country), many confederate flags, and people giving you dirty looks at the walmart, maybe the occasional slur or two.
