straight pride is like a right-handed person complaining over a left-handed gets a special scissor for them, they can't use, while there is fifty right-hand scissors in the drawer. but he only see the left-handed thinking it not fair he have one, refusing to open the drawer and get one there fit him. also the class only have one left-handed scissor.

The issue with this is that straight people aren't a hive mind. There are plenty of straight people who don't exclude lgbtq+ people, so it can be frustrating to those straights when they are treated as if they're exclusionists.

@amoremudmud What I'm saying is that the people that say _“Hey you aren’t allowed here”_ often aren't the ones saying _“WhY ArE yOU ExclUdIng Us??”_ which is what the original comment heavily implies.

@alicine-sims89883 жыл бұрын
@@bro748 Actually, they are. All the people I've seen make the straight pride stuff are very much homophobic and that is them saying "get out", "why are you excluding us?" Most straight pride stuff is anti-LGBT in of itself. Things like pride aren't exclusionary to straight people who support LGBT people, you can come, have a good time, make friends. But straight isn't going to be added to LGBT because straight people already have all the rights of any sexuality, we do not need to fight for them.

It's from the large subsection of American conservatives--read as most often white nationalists--the larger accumulation of their identities...they see as intersecting. Christianity, and whiteness are seen as "American." Straightness and cisgender...ness... falls in with those values. "Preserving what's true and right" for them is not about fact, but more about conservative opinion. Because of the intersection, these subjects are usually cross-represented in those circles. A Christian church with an exclusively white congregation? A white nationalist rally? All of the "American" stuff is on display. It's like a BYO ignorance party. One big Venn diagram mandala where, in the center, there's the deepest darkest pit of bigotry. And circle-jerking. So, it's less so about "American straights" and more so about white/religious elitists that are really insecure. They value straightness...so unfortunately...it's just *those* people. the 'Murica ones that are *reeeeeeeally* straight.

I mean, it's correct. Straight cis rights are the standared of human rights, that's where everyone should be aiming for everyone to be. Getting everyone there is kinda one of the points of pride. So like, join and help get it there, then we can all just celebrate pride because it'll be about how we all did it, we all worked together and made the planet a better place. Oh, and along the way maybe there can be change towards how unbalanced things are between the poor and the rich? Like, sure, work harder and make more money than me, but don't then build society around helping those people with more money.

Bostonian here, the straight pride parade was a mistake that only happened once. There was a plethora of counter-protestors. While I begrudgingly agree that the government should not be allowed to deny the right to organize, morally and logically this was absolutely absurd. Fortunately, protests are rather common here and there were plenty of people up for a good counter protest that day. I’m amazed there wasn’t a riot.

Turns out that boy came from a homophobic household that pushed him to hide his true identity and make fun of me and my family. When my parents found out, they immediately took action.
