Subspace Emissary being canon could refer to the fact that the cliff where everyone confronts Galeem in World of Light looks nearly identical to the cliff where, in the end of Subspace Emissary, the roster watched as the last region of Subspace receded. Interestingly, this would mean that the spot where Galeem hovered as he unleashed his onslaught would be around the same place as where the Isle of the Ancients used to be.

Could also refer to Kid Icarus Uprising in the sense that in that game there are references to Smash and other Nintendo feanchises and the Palutena guidances also tie in with canon follow-ups of Uprising (like Dark Pit and Phosphora now working for Viridi). So in a way Smash Bros is canon to Kid Icarus(?)

I *think* the "Kirby is the most powerful character" may be referring to Sakurai making Kirby survive in cutscenes and character reveal trailers since he made Kirby, thus having a personal bias for them. Kirby was the sole survivor of Ultimate's story mode intro and more recently, survived Kazuya's attempt to dump them in the pit. (Even though that was kind of a joke.)

If you want to get Technical Kirby can be considered "The Strongest Character" in the sense of Shear Density and Toughness, because Kirby is said to be a Being from the Previous Universe and was somehow able to survive The Big Crunch And Big Bang of his Game's Universe. And while I don't really care about the "This Character could beat this one" point liked touched on in this video I do like looking at the feats of some characters for example implying yes this *Could* make Kirby one of the "Toughest" Characters in Fictional Media as a whole, also he can go Beyond the Speed Of Light (without any form of protection) which is also how he Escaped Galeem.

Just to add a note here for people about the Black Hole Glitch: The Black Hole Glitch absolutely requires you to do the Infinite Ammo Super Scope Glitch, not just simply have the Super Scope. I always thought it was great that such a crazy glitch relies on an already hilarious and silly glitch.

I heard that the reason why Mr. G&W can’t L-Cancel in Melee is because the game assumes his air attacks are special attacks and not normal attacks. In Melee characters can’t L-Cancel when using special moves so Mr.G&W can’t do it either. There’s 2 moves Mr.G&W can L-Cancel but I forgot which. AsumSausm or whoever his name is made a video of “The Most Glitchiest Character in Melee”

So the "Kirby is the strongest Smash character" is about how, canonically, Kirby (with Dedede's help) was the only one to survive Tabuu's attack in Brawl, and his expert warp star piloting was the catalyst for him being the only one to survive Galeem's attack in Ultimate.

​@@fancychicken7386there were a few characters to arguably "survive" tabuu's attack. -sonic never got attacked by tabuu and only came in to basically say "fuck you smurf man" -luigi, ness, and kirby all had dedede's special token things that allowed them to get revived after tabuu's attack, though only kirby actually suffered from tabuu's attack as luigi and ness were turned to trophies earlier -dedede was resurrected from trophy status by luigi and ness after they were freed

Actually, the Kirby GCN models in Brawl is referring to the trophies in the gallery. the models in the Kirby section are ripped straight out of the cancelled Kirby game for the Gamecube with characters like Bonkers, Bronto Burt, Cappy, Sir Kibble, Wheelie, and especially Golem since Golem's only appearance in the series was Kirby and the Amazing Mirror for the GBA and that enemy was going to return in the Cancelled Kirby GCN game so this would be the only time the Golem would ever have a 3D model, and Dedede's jet hammer was also going to originate in that same Kirby GCN game (Which I am surprised wasn't the iceberg) so maybe the cancelled Kirby GCN game wans Brawl has a lot of connections to each other then we probably though, and don't get me started in the Subspace Emissary.

If they will make Smash 6, would like to see Agumon as another Bandai Namco representative (the reasoning: Digimon first started as a series of virtual pets (basically Tamagotchi, but "for boys" and featured a combat system), and if the Game & Watch games count as video games, why not? Also, a fighter representing the virtual pet genre would be cool) as well as Amaterasu from Okami as another Capcom representative (we need more quadrupedal, non-human/non-humanoid characters, since Ivysaur and Duck Hunt prove that it's possible). Also, would like to see a mobile game representative and an indie game representative (my guess: If they can't promote Shovel Knight as playable, how about the Knight from Hollow Knight?).

A good way to see the effects of SDI is moving around when you get hit with a smart bomb. You can spin in circles for fun or, if you're close to the edge of the explosion, you can actually escape it by tapping away from the center.

I was pretty sure 90% of this video would fly over my head, but as soon as you mentioned the Subspace Emissary Worlds Conquest I was cackling like a madman. I have a weirdly personal relationship to that fic, having stumbled across a KZbin channel attempting to read through the entire thing during a particularly stressful semester of school. To be clear, the fic itself is in no uncertain terms a train wreck, but the "audiobook's" narrator was oddly charming, and for a few months I ended up habitually listening through his hundreds of videos as a sort of absurdist meditation. In the end, the video series never even reached one quarter of the way through the full story, but even that was well beyond the call of duty. Having willingly sat through even that small fragment, the full scale of the work seems... ineffable. Somehow divine in its sheer inaccessibility. Comparisons to Harry Potter, Homestuck, etcetera simply don't do it justice, since all the reasonable reference points are actually enjoyable to read. SSEWC's Windwaker arc will expand your mind's definition of the word "tedium".

Someone made a theory that Tabu represents maturity and the kid growing up and forgeting about the imagination. During the OG super-smash bros we can tell this through the prespective of a kid, and Tabu represents the kid as a teenager growing up and trying to give up his love for the game we know as super-smash bros. That's why he even attacks master hand, his child self. Eventually our characters attack Tabu and defeat him, because you can't really change what you love. Tabu representing the kid's maturity explains why he is so powerful.

I wish they would of did something like that for Ultimate, I mean I like Spirit Mode, I even took the time yo 100% it twice. But I wish they would have brought subspace emmisary back. They have a lot of new characters, they could make a really good and long story.

33:02 wobbling is technically possible in brawl, but it’s usually called pass-offs. It also used to be possible in 4xm, but it was patched, due it being preformed by just using Mac’s pummel and nothing else

super late but an easy way to explain SDI is that every move has a set amount of frames of hitlag when hitting an opponent, where they arent immediately launched and instead hold position for a very small amount of time. within that time, inputting a direction will slightly shift your character. with multiple really quick control stick inputs, you can sdi far enough to do cool things like avoid multi hit moves or even avoid setups for some combos. a great example is in melee, jigglypuff can escape getting hit by the second hit of fox's up air by sdi-ing the first hit, which makes her survivability infintely better in that match up. just figured it's an interesting topic, great video btw!

"Kirby being the strongest" might be referring to the fact that, as a Smash fighter, he's pretty overpowered. Being able to copy other fighters moves, fly for a short period of time, and having two heavy hitting moves (The hammer and him turning into a rock), it's pretty easy to win difficult battles with Kirby which is why a lot of beginner players play as him.

Yes, but thats way after Smash 64 came out. You can argue that you can use the Star Fox characters on foot in the 64 games multi-player mode, but really that's all and its very limited.

Originally started watching the channel for the Zelda iceberg as that’s the only Nintendo franchise I’ve played a lot of but enjoy all these videos. You’ve got a comfy form of narrating and setting up your videos. One thing about the #freemelee part. The Big House is a tournament series that is one of the biggest and most historical tournaments in the competitive scene. Nintendo cancelled it because Slippi requires the use of an emulator and that was the only way to run that tournament at the time in 2020. Normally it’s an in person event and will be happening this year. Also to add on, in 2013 Nintendo tried to take down the entire melee event at Evo, but the backlash for this was so bad that they changed their mind. Nintendo hates us

i feel like space jumping/teleports in subspace are a fair way to kind of even the playing field a bit more, since the camera focuses on player 1 at all times, and there's a lot of awkward platforming sections that can easily/constantly leave player 2 behind without really good cooperation between the players (as well as player 2 not being able to go through doors, or keep playing if player 1 dies, etc). especially if we're talking about two kids playing the game (which was definitely the case for me way back when), that's an argument waiting to happen, so as much as it looks like little easy baby mode on the outside i genuinely really appreciate its inclusion.
