The Super Tree Fighting Climate Change - Paulownia

This is a short video about fighting climate change naturally and sustainably, the Paulownia tree removes and stores more CO2 than any other plant on the planet.
Paulownia has many qualities, it is a sought after hardwood that is super strong but very light. The wood is used for high quality items such as musical instruments and furniture.
Whilst you may not of heard about this tree of many qualities before it is likely that over the next few years it will become much more famous and will enter the limelight with bells and whistles.

As a percentage, how much more carbon dioxide does one of these trees consume that other trees of the same size? (I have found differing opinions in my research.)

The reason there are differentials in the CO2 sequester volume for Paulownia trees is due to the complexity of factors that influence the volume. So for example the volume of leaves and the spacing of trees, the amount of water available, the size of the tree, the amount of sunlight and the composition of the soil are all factors that affect the amount of CO2 absorbed by a Paulownia tree. What is proven is in most cases Paulownia trees sequester as much as 10x the volume of other established trees. To get your plantation evaluated for carbon credits it needs to be officially registered and then an evaluation is done via a site visit that will examine many of the influencing factors before a valid metric ton volume is certified.
