Having recently read the comic, this is the movie I’m by far the most excited for from DC. It’s such a fun and unique take on Supergirl. Honestly, I’m worried tho because the comic is so episodic and I wonder what a 2 hour movie will do with that - but its emotional core is super strong.

It's usually the inverse, spend big money on the villains because one time cash out, spend way less on recurring cast since they'll ask for more after every movies.

This comic is beautiful. If the director can match the movie with amazing Visuals and Tone then I can say this movie will be a fan favorite. Superman Legacy can be good but I really feel based off the story this movie can be great 💯 I like the actor in the Old Guard. Literally my most watched movie of the last couple years 😅

James Gunn is wisely hiring lesser knowns and non A-list actors. I want to see less famous faces given the chance to shine, so I appreciate most (if not all) of Gunn's DCU casting thus far. Gunn MADE the careers of Chris Pratt and Dave Bautista, so this pattern isn't completely alien

Added Trivia: Not only was Matthias considered by Zack Snyder as alternate for Ben Affleck's Batman, he was also the original choice as Robocop (2014) before Joel Kinnaman eventually took the role. He turned down the Robocop project because he said he didn't think he was ready for the big movies yet. He would have been great in both roles.

You can add to your list 'The Regime' miniseries with Kate Winslet, Far from the Madding Crowd with Carey Mulligan, DIsorder with Diane Kruger, Close Enemies with Reda Kateb, and many others. He's not only a legit action star, he's also a very valid male romantic lead. He's complete package and I'm glad Hollywood is finally taking notice.

Matthias Schoenaerts is definitely one of those random actors I root for even though I don’t know that much about him, mostly because he is Belgian and I have Belgian heritage and because he has a cool persona and physicality. He seems like a great fit for this role.

superman and supergirl seem to have top tier and super accurate casting while everything else so far is just downright bad or dubious (not counting creature commandos) still can't get over having a 50 year old Booster or a 60 year old Hal Jordan who won't even have a future in the DCU like GLEN POWELL IS RIGHT THERE!

I'm really curious who'll they'll cast for BATB. I can't wait to see Robin onscreen again, and while its a basic pick, I wouldn't mind Jensen Ackles as a live action Batman. A fan of the character, got the look down, right age for a Damian Wayne teaching Bruce, and has voiced him in the recent DC animated movies, which falls in line with Gunn wanting the animated DCU movies to have the same actors as live action ones.

They don't want to have a lot of Green Lanterns, and they want to focus on John Stewart. As for Booster Gold, they probably want him to be contemporaries with Ted Kord, and he has a daughter in her 20s. Also, how is EVERYTHING bad? They have a lot of perfect castings.
