A little background information, Omni. Matt and Ryan had a 3rd friend who they tragically lost to S*ic*de. At the time, the three of them where close friends with Markiplier often collabing in sketches and IRL games. After their friend's death, Markiplier and Matt and Ryan sort of stopped being close. Matt and Ryan actually ended up becoming closer to the Game Grumps and became their editors for an era on their channel. They left to focus more on SuperMega and here we are today.

People like XQC will just stream hundreds of other creators' videos in full with little to no commentary, repost the whole video on KZbin, and get all the benefits without any of the effort, and the actual creators of the videos will only get "exposure". Ignoring all discussion about it and labeling it as 'controversy of the week' is pretty closeminded of you and pretty disheartening to see. Destiny doesn't know anything about the ramifications of DMCAing someone on KZbin and doesn't know the history of DCMAing on the platform. 1. DMCAing is looked down upon heavily by the KZbin community because of past actions of previous creators. It's to the point where it could outright kill a channel. 2. If you do DMCA someone and they fight it, then you will be forced to sue them because of the social ramifications, resulting in a huge loss in money, especially the top KZbinrs/Twitch streamers like XQC and Ssniperwolf. 3. You will also get the hate of these big streamers as well because in their eyes, you are attacking their favorite creator, causing further grief. It's just not feasible unless you already have millions and the cost is too great for any ordinary person to do.

1. Has that ever happened? 2. You are never forced to sue, most streamers who get hit with DMCA will just roll over. The optics of fighting a DMCA claim that is so blatant are simply too bad. 3. People got upset over XQC's reaction over the LEMMINO video. LEMMINO as far as I know hasn't even commented on it, yet XQC is facing huge backlash.
@emofems Жыл бұрын
So are everyone hating CPG Grey? You can issue a DMCA claim and give the offender 7 days to react, and in that time if the react..er? doesn't clean the video, it will be removed. It only escalates into a legal matter if the issuer is suing, the party who is reuploading the content can countersue, but they should be pretty sure that they're in the rights to do that. If the offender makes their fans to attack the copyright holder, any rational person knows who is the idiot in that situation.

omni missed the whole point with the react content thing, you should've read everything muta had to say, he specifically said it's not about the ad rev or the content theft, it's about the competition, when you reupload the same video to youtube, it's gonna get recommended over the original one therefore hurting the og creator and their growth, meaning there's less insentive to make good content if someone's gonna just reupload it and you will get punished for it, the exposure argument also doesn't work here because the stats say otherwise, very few people actually get anything from the exposure, destiny said that if people had a problem they would've sent DMCA requests, but he's kinda stupid because doing so as a small creator means starting a war on a massive army while you have a water gun, it is never worth it to do the right thing because again it just punishes you for doing it, so the only choice a small creator has is to just let it happen and wish that their channel doesn't get destroyed because of leeches
@nerdjournal Жыл бұрын
Holy Cow, seems like I wasn't the only person who kind of thought it was a bit cap.
@Salmagros Жыл бұрын
Where did you found those Stats or information? From what I've seen over the Years of watching Asmongold React content. Everytime he watch something the original video and channel always get a boost of views and popularity. Some KZbinr or Streamer even own him their carrier because his react Kickstarted their channel and push it to the algorithm.
@MeanPeePee Жыл бұрын
@@Salmagros well there's a lot to tackle on your reply here but I'll do my best, first of all asmongold is probably one of the very few reactors who actually adds something to the reaction (but he still uploads the entire video so the main problem is still there and adding more on top of the original content makes the og video less desirable to watch since you can just watch asmon's video which has more, but nevertheless he still adds a lot of insights and commentary on his own) and also he always encourages his audience to go support the creator which is a very important point here, so when he reacts to somebody the possibility of that "payment with exposure" actually being worth it goes up because of what he does, but even with asmongold a lot of times a video he reacted to ends up not doing so well because his video contains all of it and his audience might not be interested in the og creator and when that happens that means the growth could go down because the video doesn't reach the targeted audience and instead the algorithm links it to an audience that doesn't care about it and then flags it as lower rating and that hurts the channel, so enough with asmongold and let's talk about a completely different world of the 99.9999% of react streamers, if you're familiar with kiratv he has said in a past live stream of his that asmongold is probably the only one who actually drives some traffic his way and the rest of the react channels send basically nothing, react streamers just don't care about adding anything and they're just broadcasting the whole video to their audience, they put it on while eating or going to the bathroom or sleeping and then they clip the whole video and reupload it to youtube using the same title the same thumbnail with their face on it and with nothing to add, if you go to one of the small channels that have been reacted to you will find that there's absolutely no growth at all and the video that has been reacted to actually did terribly, now can reactions actually bring exposure or even kickstart a channel's career, yes but the possibility of that happening is so small to the point of it's very noticable when it happens and that's IF the reactors did enough to encourage people to support and added more insights and put the og creator in a position where their audience could find their videos desirable (like asmon), if they didn't then the chance of that happening is slim to none and it's just hurting the channel, and also whenever they see a creator they like they just camp their videos and they start reacting and reuploading them as soon as they come out which basically destroys a small channel instantly
@MeanPeePee Жыл бұрын
@@Salmagros also josh strife hayes added a very insightful take about the exposure thing, it only works when you're a small creator, once you're in the middle(around 100k or more) you basically gain nothing from the exposure and instead the reaction could hurt the original video a lot if it's re-uploaded to KZbin, especially if it's re-uploaded as soon as the og video comes out or within 2 weeks (the time when the algorithm understands the video and how it's growing and starts to recommend it more and more)
@Salmagros Жыл бұрын
@@MeanPeePee when you say react content rarely drive traffic toward the original content then all I can say is you completely made all that up. Unless the react video didn’t linked and credited the original video or else the views and popularity of the video always get a boost if the channel is big enough. Many shortsighted people only see the views of the react videos bigger than the original video and think if the react video didn’t exist all of that views would magically appear on the original video. No, it doesn’t work like that. For example do you want your video to get 30k views all by yourself or do you want to get 300k views that split 7-3 between you and others?

28:16 As much as I want to believe her, I would like to see some receipts. I blame creators like Illuminaughtii and the person who accused Kwite. I would love to believe, but i can't in good conscious jump in the torch and pitchfork mob unless i have the evidence

Omni, you need to check yourself. Your content ain’t that behind react content. I don’t think Muta or Jacksfilms would appreciate you saying that no is going to care in like a week so we should just accept the way things are. That is the most black pilled take I’ve ever heard. Please rethink your position and have some empathy.

We make fun of people for expecting others to create for exposure, but when streamers are freebooting others content for reacts suddenly exposure is perfectly fine? Why are we allowing rich streamers and KZbinrs to use the hard work or others and pay them in "Exposure".

gear 5th looks cool, i wouldn't compare it to the hype of super saiyan though. more ultra instinct. but from the episode it reminds me more of when yusuke became the mazoku and channeled raizen.

Omni speed is having a cluster headache. This pain occurs on one side of the head and it is described as on the worst pains a man could experience. These can sometimes be chronic as well.

The whole react thing is a tricky needle to thread. People have to be able to commentate on publicly available media, it makes for a fun and interactive stream, and generally it’s a net positive for the creators being reacted to. But xQc just reuploading the entire video to the same platform it came from is too far. He can afford an editor to go through and edit it to focus on his commentary like Cr1tikal does and xQc could afford to tip the original creator to make up well more than the little lost revenue there is. He only makes a minimum of $50 million a year. I also feel like there could be a technical solution that could load the original video in viewer’s browsers for watch parties, but it’d be difficult to scale and work on iOS. Plus YT might get mad at that despite it driving traffic for advertisers.

my opinion of large youtubers watching youtube content that's less known than them is that a lot of times people would never know about it without that reaction. 100% not always the case and to monetize it without changing anything but putting your face that is wrong though.

As react content goes, I think two things can be true at the same time. One reacts content can be harmful if the reactors literally grab onto reaction minutes after coming out and if they have crossover fans certainly. But on the other hand, lets say I react to something 3 or 4 months down the road. The people who were going to watch the video watched it and the people who didn't watch it either never knew the channel existed and wouldn't have anyway. I think when it comes down to it, like Music reactions, especially older music and older movie could benefit from a second or third wind who wouldn't have given the media a chance when they came out. So, I think two things on reactions can be true at the same time but streamers and reactors got to give them time to get their bag before getting their own. Also, some people want to be reacted to, especially little-known artists trying to gain a fan base that will sub, it doesn't hurt to try at least.
@mp-gw8sc Жыл бұрын
destiny's take is off the mark since It's less about the content style it's the intentions of the reactor and if you want to pretend like you don't know what I mean then that's fine but pretending like there's no nuance is silly.

React content is 90% garbage what Muta says is true. But I don't agree with the idea that "therefore we must fight against this garbage". These consumer choices happen organically over time, creators will have to adapt to the tides, this is the challenge of being a content creator.

A quick opinion no one asked for about the react thing. I think react content follows a cycle. Every now and then, it devolves back into the "Jinx Era". That level of free-booting isn't acceptable. If you don't remember Jinx, he was a creator famous for watching videos and not saying or doing anything during his reaction. Effectively, this just equated to a re-upload. We accept that reactions are mostly harmless, but re-uploads are not. The question is "where is the line" and whether or not it is being crossed. If I'm being honest, I have no idea if he is crossing a line or not. I don't enjoy Xqc and don't watch his reactions, so maybe it's fine, and maybe it isn't, but we should still strive for more when it comes to react content to avoid having to ask this question in the first place. A very easy way to avoid this is to ask for permission. Some streamers seem to think this is an inconceivable herculean task but I swear, if your freebooting you can put in that little bit of effort
@exilemorin04 Жыл бұрын
Xqc’s react content is literal sludge , dude leaves for 5 minutes and still uploads the reaction. sometimes won’t even watch the video at all, I don’t hate the guy but wow there are really people who watch his reactions when most times he’s arguing with his chat about stupid stuff
