hi! do you think you could extend the witches mirroring to them acting as a mirror to a contemporary society for example, them as caricatures of the consternation surrounding witches at the time- especially after daemonologie and the patriarchal society that denies them power, therefore they seek it through other mediums like witchcraft and roman gods- the switch from Christianity to Roman may be due to females lacking participation like denial for them being priests when men can could be another patriarchal aspect but i think that's a stretch!!
