I want to thank Yuppi for suggesting this video, also what gear are you all rockin these days?

Only bumped into this again today and realized I never commented on it. Huge thanks! Still pretty much the only demonstrations about Whammy that show what the signature sounds are and what people really use it for (on top of giving more ideas)! Very valuable. Gotta say I'm a big fan of the glitched sound of the IV, that's the "musical" one (or maybe the not musical one which makes it interesting). I'm thinking it would render itself really nicely to let's say some odd places like playing chiptune on guitar (I had Zabutom's Initiate in mind all those years ago already). One of the cool sounds I hadn't heard before was in your original video when you played low strings with down shift that was similarly glitched. Even the harmonics seemed somewhat glitched which put a cool vibe to leads and simple riffs. Perhaps the IV sounds a bit more like a synth too. Always a fan of special effects that allow you to make guitar sound unlike guitar. The newer ones seem like tools for a guitarist who needs pitch shifting. But IV is an effect for an artist. Not that the newer one totally lost its charm, it's still pretty aggressive on those high notes. Just more normal and clean. Certainly both have their place.

what is the difference between DigiTech Whammy DT Drop Tuning Pedal and the Digitech XP100??
@fender4brad8 ай бұрын
Dang, another consideration I hadn’t thought of!!! I’ve always wanted one, you get a lot with the new one, including a new mortgage on your home. The prices are a real buzz killer for me. It does make my wife happy. I am very slow to buy new pedals.

FANTASTIC Review and description! Extremely helpful. So what's the number that determines tracking for a pedal? And do the pedals track the same or is there a numerical difference?

5:39 lol almost accidentally sounded like a part of the solo in Evening Star by DragonForce 😅

Love the video but I was hoping you would have demonstrated both pedals with clean and distortion signals.. because distortion overdrive was so present in the mix the true definition and differences of both pedals weren't highlighted much

Thanks for the suggestion. I might do a clean version later on.

Tough call which one to pick. I want to pair one of em with the Ricochet to essentially have more control over pitch shifting. The tone of the V is far more more prominent, whereas the DT seems like it has some tone suck compared to the V.

Hello! Do you know how I can repair or get a replacement for the activation/bypass switch ok my Whammy DT, please? Water got in it and it’s now working fine but can’t be activated (using the switch). 😭

You may want to contact Digitech.

The Whammy 5 is out, it's basically the same as the Whammy DT without the DT effects.

@@DustinAlford do you use the dt features enough to justify buying it over a regular version 5?

I hate that u have to step on that button to start it. How come Herman Li from Dragonforce never steps on the button? He just plays and steps on it
@2BDPODCASTOFFICIAL Жыл бұрын
It looks like because hes going back and forth between two whammy pedals. In theory i think if it was just one youd leave the pedal on the lowest position and only use it when needed for the whammy effect.
@8eight104 Жыл бұрын
I think Herman Li also has it connected to MIDI and probably a DAW that controls it
