The Surfing School for People With Disabilities

There’s more than just one way to ride a wave. In Caswell Bay, Wales you’ll find a one-of-a-kind surf school. Originally working out of the back of a car, Surfability UK now operates from two purpose built buildings with an ever-growing range of specialist equipment.
Since 2013, coach Ben Clifford has been individually tailoring surf lessons to people living with a range of different disabilities. With 10 years of successful operations behind them, they are now setting their sights even further and sending athletes to compete around the globe.

I always appreciate stuff like this; having access to learn cool and new things should be a right to all, including to disabled people. This reminds me of that one cafe in Japan that has robot servers controlled remotely by people at home who cannot work in real life. It gives lots of opportunities for disabled people! :D I’m excited to more stories that showcase these kinds of experiences to those who usually don’t have the resources/ability to participate. :))

well Harlow is trying to copy the whole laid back surfer aesthetics. Example is the hair. They get that way if you get lots of saltwater and dont cut them. Turns out people that actually surf actually are this way.

Sigh...tried. Couldn't even get onto my knees, much less stand. My world is under, not above water. Before there were classes in breath holding I could stay under for 5+ minutes when I was nine and got seriously into technical cave diving when I lived in Florida. It was great fun.
