The thing about comments like “he’s a sad boy” is that most of these dudes don’t write even 20% of their material. When Isbell writes songs about despair you know that’s coming from his heart. When Morgan sings a song about missing a girl it’s because him and 2 other dudes wrote a country hit about missing summer and drinking six packs by the river. Quite literally that happened.

Surprising sadness? Maybe he's just still pining for the mannequin in the Chasin' You video.

I'm so happy you included quittin time, I'm a sucker for sad songs as well and Morgans voice on it is sooo good.

Still going down is my favorite I got hurt when he said it was his least favorite

I love Silverado For Sale, because that's actually my story! Livin' The Dream is a close tie and I honestly feel is super underrated. I love when an artist reminds us that they're human and that the grass is NOT always greener.

Silverado for Sale struck a cord in my heart. My personal favorite but probably not the best.

Pretty much agree with this review. The second disc isn’t my style, but the more I listen to the first disc the more I like it. I would listen to an acoustic album from him alllll day every day, the producers cover up so much of his talent.

I love every single song on this album! I like more then others but I can listen to his entire album all day, and that’s what I’ve been doing for the last year. Just got my Apple Music yearly listens the other day and I’m the last year I’ve put in 24k minutes worth of Morgan wallens music.

As good as “Sand in my Boots” is and I think it’s the best song on the album, I can’t help but think about Kenny Chesney’s “Anything but Mine”

I thought the EXACT thing that “now im dodging potholes” sounds identical to “in the morning im leavin” and ill never unhear it

865 is written by John Byron, who actually had an album come out a few years ago. It didn’t do well but there are some good songs on it. Its called “across that line”. He writes songs now, and you’ll probably see more of him in the future.

Funny how, if we add up everyone's fav song on the double album commented here; it would be more than a single-length album, yet it's criticized for being a double. I say treat it as two albums of the length bothers you.

Great review, Grady. Sand in My Boots is the song I play the most by far. If this double album was condensed down to my favorite 12 songs, my head might’ve literally exploded because there are that many great ones on here.
