I have found that motivation and discipline are like a loop that keep eachother going. When I lose motivation, I struggle to keep up my discipline and when I lose discipline it hinders my motivation. This is why I find sticking to a schedule and setting goals to be best for me. Sometimes I fall off the track and get into a low point where I don’t make much progress for a couple weeks, but once I gather enough discipline to push myself to atleast do a little bit of work, my motivation returns and I’m back into it again.

Thank you for the video. I use to set deadlines for each project. Then, I do my best to achieve before the deadline.

Thank you for posting this, it is helpful. One note, I recently watched an Andrew Huberman video on motivation and he said something along the lines: that rewarding yourself upon completion of a task makes you not enjoy the process and that process oriented people are the most successful, as you say. I’ll have to rewatch his video to refresh my memory.

Great video. For me, I get overwhelmed by the process as a whole, so scheduling it into bite-sized components makes it seem more doable.

Yes, I think that is a good way to break it down, it can all be very overwhelming, great tip. Thank you for watching!

Thanks so much for a great video, Nuria! Both motivation and discipline are so necessary, but I don’t think we think about them enough. I am very motivated because I love writing and creating, and building another income stream would be very helpful for me and my husband. Discipline is the problem because we are both retired, so hard to keep my routine going. I like routine and have created one (more than once), but so much gets in the way lately. We’ve been involved in a major renovation project of our condo this past year, which just has everything turned upside down. Most of the work is being done by the HOA, but living in a construction zone with demands that have workers in and out has been a routine killer! I’m really looking forward to returning to a quieter life and attempting to maintain a productive routine for my KDP business. I do love doing it so much! Thanks for your wise words and for all you share with us.

I'm in a similar situation right now, my husband is decorating our house so I know the difficulties with all the noise and clutter! I hope you can return to a quieter life as soon as possible and I know that's going to help you enormously with maintaining your routine. I'm like you, I love this kind of work so our motivation comes from within and that is a good thing!

A routine helps. For me, I've got a blog that I've been writing for the last 11 years and it.... has only earned me a couple hundred dollars. It is very much so intrinsic with the writing side. For KDP, I know I need to sit and make the books, be patient as one goes out and then make the next.

Thank you! Perfect timing with this video, Nuria. The word that gave me that “ aha” moment was ROUTINE! Now I’ve got some new motivation. 🤣🤣

Great video. I have always been motivated by external rewards. In school sports, it was trophies. In the military, it was getting promoted. In my business, it was both getting promoted and earning more money. Once I owned my own business, it was making money and recognition. I know this is why I haven't done well in KDP moneywise. I got started very late in life, and I did story books because I enjoyed writing them and I wasn't concerned about the small amount of money. Then, the hope of making a lot of money attracted me to LCB and as soon as I realized it wasn't worth the effort for the reward of money, I stopped. I don't know how to explain the discipline I have to keep me motivated. I am a workaholic because that is all I've ever been.

It's great that you know exactly what motivates you. Rewards are very important, I often reward myself to keep myself motivated 😀. But of course I also enjoy it. Thank you so much for watching Tony!

I am extremely undisciplined, I work full time and I have no community that cares whether or not I accomplish any of my goals. So... I don't feel like I'm getting anywhere, or I'm getting somewhere very slowly :P
@TheHomeBoss2 жыл бұрын
I used to think exactly the same... I'm very undisciplined by nature but somehow I got there in the end. You'll get there too, and you have a community right here that cares about your progress.

It's not easy to become Motivated when your account on kdp is closed. What should i do now?
@TheHomeBoss Жыл бұрын
I'm so sorry to hear that. Find out exactly why your account was closed and use this as a learning experience for the next thing you do. Amazon KDP is not the only platform you can publish on, but of course other platforms also have rules and guidelines that you have to stick to and they are usually the same as Amazon's, so you need to make sure you don't make the same mistake again. You can also use the skills you aquired by creating books to make other type of digital products that you can sell. There are a lot of opportunities out there, don't let this stop you. I wish you all the best.

thanks. hello I start publishing in kdp and need information from you to help me because most of my books become draft
@TheHomeBoss2 жыл бұрын
You need to ask Amazon, I don't have enough information to help. Normally if your book is sent back to draft, they send an email to tell you why. Check your spam folder.
