Two Brains is so similar to Ice King. A guy who went crazy, hair turned from brown to white, got obsessed with one specific thing (cheese, princesses) and his original normal form only appears a few times in the show. Even his dynamic with Word Girl is kinda similar to Ice King and Marcelina.

Dr Wordgirl Brains is one of my favorite episodes because we see Boxleitner for the longest. His first impulse was to steal cheese probably because he had forgotten who is truly was due to time. However, after he was focused on helping people and eventually does the right thing of switching back for the sake of his friend. i like to believe that Steve in a way sacrificed his freedom once more by switching with WordGirl.

in the 2nd episode (A Game of Cat and Mouse), we do get an in-series canon appearance of boxleitner!! and he is mentioned by name! this always struck me as really sad that this was one of wordgirl's first difficult villain fight without boxleitner and her first instinct was to go to his old lab for clues :,-)

I’m always a bit sad that Wordgirl seems not to treat two brains like an old friend in anyway even when he’s just chilling. I honestly would have loved to see more of her trying to bring out the old professor she once knew… hmm.. might write something on that- not sure but I love these analyses of wordgirl! And I really can’t wait to see more! I would love to see a timeline kind of thing or even more of your own Fanon thoughts on episodes that would have been great to see!

@@djsadbean especially in the day off kind of episodes! It would have been so nice to see, for example, a more Steven like persona from two brains in the time-out with two brains episode! Where squeaky’s hunger is being constantly fed and how he just wants to goof off and play around. It isn’t like he’s stealing any cheese and stopping time doesn’t seem to have any repercussion other than it might stick forever, but we all know it wasn’t. In other words I just wish we could have had an episode where word girl gives in and just has a fun day off and enjoys it with her old mentor, maybe even trying to get him to remember, building a ray with him, just having fun and trying to understand this new side of him a bit more… I also wish it happened after the events of Dr. Wordgirl-brains so she understands where the urges come from and how it’s possible that he’s still in there and how it just might be possible to bring him back out in come capacity. I’ve had a while to think about this lol- but hey! If this gives you any ideas of your own I would love to hear them!

This is such an awesome character analysis! Upon rewatching WordGirl, I too became interested in his backstory. I know that Dr.Two-Brains' normal personality is most likely a fusion of Steven and Squeaky, but I still like to imagine what it would be like if he was able to be portrayed as a full-on Jekyll and Hyde character. Either way, great video and great headcanons.

After thinking Dr. Wordgirl Brains, I have a feeling they were building up for Steven to come back fully. It honestly would've been a great ending for his character. Idk how they would remove the brain (I wish Prof. Tubing was in the show more and been a great mentor to Wordgirl). As for Two Brains any time he appears on the show he's such a highlight even when he has a minor role like in Becky's Birthday (I steal the cheese. I buy the crackers). I also appreciate early on in the show they remind us how much that mouse brain was controlling him and say Steven's name just to remind us.

Do remember Tubing did offer to remove the mouse brain and Two Brains rejected it. I do concur, however, that they were building up for the redemption but they didn't have time. Steven Boxleitner was always in there. He surfaced even more after the Miss Power incident along with countless others. He just needed a push.

MOMA is likely a large contributor/collaborator with PBS being one of the most well known modern art museums in nyc. Also if you were trained in the arts there, you would get a lot of tours plus many art teachers worked in it or had their stuff in the MOMA. I think the "and thats a bad guy" is more in reference how there is alot of deadly bad guy efforts to stop word girl, but at that point the Butcher is just stopping Word Girl from stopping him. And further with someone like Steven with likely a wide range of experience regarding both villain's and heroes such a villain might not seem so much of a 'bad guy' in his overarching experience.

After all, a few people know Becky's superhero secret identity like her friends Scoops, Violet, Kid Math, and even her grandpa Bampy. So why wouldn't Sally know. There are some moments in episodes where it shows that Sally knows that Becky is Wordgirl.

Maybe the reason why the elephant didn’t follow the newly transformed Steven is because of the old stereotype that elephants are afraid of mice. Even if the pachyderm wasn’t afraid of mice, what Steven turned into probably had a hand in scaring it away. As for his strange behaviors and spotty lying abilities, it could be that Dr. Two-Brains’ personalities and behaviors (the times Squeaky exerts pressure on Steven notwithstanding) is a third personality cobbled together from various fragments of its constituents’ personalities and memories or otherwise influenced by them.

In the episode where he tries to turn the moon into cheese on new years (I can’t remember the episode name) we see a picture next to his bed of him as steven with some girl, we don’t know who this girl is but in another episode he mentions he has a niece so my guess is it’s either a sister or the niece, but either way we know for sure that: 1# he has siblings/ a sibling, and 2# he’s kept in contact with his family since he and squeaky merged, because it’s mentioned in another episode that the henchmen were at his nieces graduation and he only got the henchmen after his transformation (I assume) we also know that he’s probably been like this for at least two years (since they mention it was two years ago) some people were also making theories of the girl in the picture maybe being an ex girlfriend, comparing it to the picture of Simon and Becky in adventure time, but I personally don’t think so because they look pretty similar and the girl looks quite young, I personally think it’s his niece due to this fact

Finally remembered to watch this after forgetting to for awhile djejsjrjdhr holy there’s SO many things I want to comment but I can’t bc I’m GENUINELY impressed w how much you were able to point out environment wise with his lab and everything like skdjsjrjej I loved this sm and there’s two things I wanna say 1. Do you ever think that the narrator ever has like,,, _trauma_ from Steven’s accident?? I’ve only entertained this thought a couple times but I just realized WordGirl never really got the full story of how it happened and tHE NARRATOR JUST COULDN’T BRING HIMSELF TO TELL WORDGIRL CAUSE HE REGRETS NOT BEING ABLE TO WARN STEVEN EARLIER THAT HE COULDN’T DO ANYTHING TO KEEP SQUEAKY AWAY 2. DUDE I was thinking about that too cause I’m working on smth with this idea of the moment WordGirl realized that Steven is GONE. All the visits, little chats and everything she had with Steven is GONE. And the worst part is that she has to see his face every time Two Brains commits a crime with the knowledge that it’s NOT Steven and he’s essentially dead 💔 ok that was a bit too far but this was just smth I was thinking about since you brought it up and couldn’t get that thought out of my head ToT Ok enough of me rambling, this was a GREAT video, I’m gonna make a mental note to refer to this _often_ the next time I’m writing for him huehuehue >:) impressive stuff, keep it up!!! 🤍💛🩵💜
