Hmm, also makes me wonder if Tobey was also secretly miserable, as he was bulding robots, but seemed serious (he usually enjoys and finds pride bulding those) and the only reason why he is a villian is to get Wordgirl's attention and she is one of the few things he feels gracefull with... he is basically a lonelly kid with a crazy tallent for mechanics abd has no idea how to tackle his own comfussing emotions... Cause we saw every villian trying to stop Becky and her father, but not him... Also, yeah the Butcher was so different and Dr Two Brains, he is just the best character out there, I wish happiness to nearly all the characters in this show (with few exceptions...like certian parents out there...)

Hello! -This episode is definitely one of my favorites of the series. Sometimes these what if episodes of cartoons are fun to explore and this is one of the best ones. - one of my favorites jokes in the show is when Wordgirl says she doesn't have the time for their shenanigans and they literally give her the actual time (it's 2:15,etc) -It also showed not to underestimate people like Chuck because these kinds of people are more than capable than what their looks display. - I'm so happy you brought up that Dutch angle because I get tired of how certain films use them in a bad way (Thor 1 was the beast example). When used well, it can offer great unease (Do the Right Thing) -i can't for how the show should've ended video soon because I always felt it didn't get a proper ending. It's still impressive it lasted 8 years on the network and does speak to the quality of the show.

Another excellent video Sarah!! 🎉 This special was always a favorite of mine too, but I struggled with the message at the end that Becky should give up her time as a kid to be Wordgirl. I think you took both sides of the argument well, and I’m interested to see your take on how the show should’ve ended! I agree that Wordgirl shouldn’t have to do everything alone, characters like Kid Math showed that she could have help. I also loved your Butcher analysis, I never noticed how the Chucktopia AU shows that he becomes a worse person in Wordgirl’s absence, he really is such a sweet guy in the show and Wordgirl helps him to be better. And I always found it hilarious that Steven still became Dr. Two-Brains in this universe lol

another amazing video!!! firstly i really love the set changes you do to every video to fit the theme its so charming and doesnt go unnoticed! your analysis of this special was so fascinating and interesting to listen to; this episode truly is so iconic!!! (also, its a small detail, but i love that becky has to run instead of fly. karma for all the times she defied the laws of physics.) the emphasis on the big bee and also the comment about the highway made me choke on my spit alsdfjkalsfj this episode is definitely one of my favs if also the one i fear the most -- stories where a character can potentially get trapped forever in an alternate, warped version of their reality is something that scares me so so much!!! i thought it was interesting u mentioned coraline, given that both main characters were going through a "be careful what you wish for" kind of storyline. this episode has some of my favorite jokes and moments :-) particularly the bit with the time and the iconic "food based villains gotta stick together" in the 1st part and the car chase sequence in the 2nd haha! also i really like the callback to chuck hating hair nets and the fact that chuck didnt force 2 brains to wear a hair net?? youre so right, there are a lot of zany details that stay surprisingly consistent throughout this show which is frankly amazing and something to add to your analyses about all the villains being somewhat warped in their personalities in chucktopia, i feel that this also calls back to the miss power special where wordgirl's role is to act as an example/role model - the villains being fairly pleasant, albeit mischievous, people normally could be owed to them being positively influenced by good ol' wordgirl (who is also, like you said, being positively influenced by her parents, so good on sally and tim on doing a great job - theyre the true unsung heroes of fair city). without her, the baddies sort of character develop in a negative way. 2 brains is endlessly fascinating in that he acts as a wild card that tends to guide, rather than be guided by, wordgirl. a point of yours that was very touching and really resonated with me was your point with chucktopia 2 brains - you can still find time to do what you love despite feeling forced to do something you hate (insert the i cant imagine a bearable life under capitalism meme). apologies for writing so much, this was a wonderfully edited and written video and i will be thinking about this for the foreseeable future. singlehandedly reignited the hyperfixation. alright take it easy (ive been writing so much for class im in canvas discussion mode lmao. if any sad college student is reading this stay strong besties we will get through this) (also!! this is a bit of a tangentially related thing, but 2 brains' ponytail was a huge point of inspiration for my post-mouse 2 brains design. like literally if i hadnt seen this ep he might not have looked that way)

Had to pause at 3:50 because I kinda thought Becky was at least 11 in this 2-parter. She was 9 at the very start, had a birthday in Season 1, making her 10. In the episode "House Arrest", it's revealed she's currently 10 & a half. Like I said, she should be 11 here....

I've always loved this episode. In a weird twisted way, I have always liked stories where the main character has to suffer for doing good for others. Intentional or not, that's kind of what wordgirl is all about. In this episode Has it Is in full force.

I would watch this episode sometimes as a kid. I watched it again years later during my post-work lunch (Fittingly, I had a chipotle chicken sandwich). I remember enjoying it. Honestly living under chucks rule doesn’t seem so bad all he does is declare sandwiches the only concept and put statues of himself everywhere I know this is a kids show so they can’t show execution but they could have at least shown that chuck collected heavy taxes or forced them to do hard labor in his factories making sandwiches the citizens actually seem happy and content or at least not miserable or desperate under his rule his rule actually seems better than the way the city is now if you think about it most people in the city doesn’t even know simple words that a first grader would be taught so it’s not like talking in ridiculous sandwich words is that big a change also chuck did give the villains jobs besides dr two brains those jobs seem to fit them very well nobody in the current city seems to try to find other uses for the villans powers besides crime and Brent was there so no matter how jealous chuck is of Brent he still won’t do anything to Brent
