What's really special about this one is the ducking/responsiveness on offer for the echo and verb and the further shaping that can be done with the footswitch. For those of us that don't have a helpful disembodied hand to twiddle the knobs, that is. I've been looking for something that would allow me a little more active role in signal destruction without having to stop playing and become a pedal troll, and that's not even where the extras end with this. Now I understand why it became a last minute favorite!

Oh goodness... this is amazing. It's like a middle ground between Avalanche Run and Gen Loss, which is precisely the sound of little ghosts poking up out of the ocean and sliding along the curved bow of a ship to become just another part of the sea mist; their whispers sweeten the crashing of the wake. Some keep rising until the moonlight washes out their faintest outlines, while the others fall back into the current with the slightest splash. The foam trailing over it all is like a flurry of lost feathers buzzing with static charge. Thank you for a lovely voyage

This is one of the nicest pedals I've heard in a while. Very musical. It's very keyed into that melancholy lo-fi sound. I can't really imagine doing anything else with it tbh. But that's not a bad thing at all. It is perfect for that sort of space. Imagine if Chopin had one of these when doing his Nocturnes. That very last bit before the video ended started edging into Boards of Canada territory. Pretty impressive for a single pedal. I think I need one...

Here in the UK we’re not allowed to hunts swans because they all belong to the queen or something. Swan Hunter was also the name of a UK shipbuilder. Great playing of course, even if the effects are the sort of thing I usually go to great pains to avoid. As I’ve said before, it just demonstrates the sheer breadth and depth of that thing we call ‘music’…

What a lovely glitchy warble box! I do wonder if the maker knew what was inside before your improvisational style of playing brought it out for all to hear. Again, I find it hard to decide if I am hearing the pedal or if it is your consciousness inside. I reckon you and Russ could make an album of improvisational music with one pedal for each song. So many pedals, so many songs ……
@emilyharpist3 жыл бұрын
hahah I think it's my consciousness!!! all the improvisations are very much "me" and what I'm feeling in the moment if that makes sense, and it's always so wonderful to discover how the pedal can enhance the feeling I was going for!! (also, Russ just ALWAYS knows the best pedal settings to go along with the improvs -- it's very much a conversation between me and the pedal, but also between me and Russ!) 😂❤️

I could definitely listen to this all day long. I was actually coming up with some drum rhythms & beats in my head to this while listening to it that would be played using my Tama travel kit. Also, as a harpist, have you ever listened to the music of Andreas Vollenweider? He plays a modified electric harp & started out in the early 1980s. If you haven’t heard of or listed to him, I recommend the albums, Behind The Gardens - Behind The Wall-Under The Tree, Caverna Magic’s, & White Winds. Although my music mainstays are alternative rock, grunge, 80s hard rock, Classic Rock, Jam Bands , & Country, I listen to other types of music as well like dance / club music, 90s Rap / Hip Hop, 80s New Wave, Freestyle Music, Jazz , & other types of music as well. What kind of music do you like?

I was digging this so much, then my uncle’s dog started barking after the 4:00 mark. Don’t know whether it was the warble or the wobble, but he sure doesn’t like it 😜. Do you always record these live or do you sometimes record clean and diddle with knobs later? I have no idea how you can make the oddest effects so musical. What an imagination!
@emilyharpist3 жыл бұрын
HAHAH please apologize to your uncle's dog for me!!! 😅❤️ it really depends on the pedal; sometimes if I'm playing something more difficult, I record it dry and add the effects later because it can be harder to both nail the performance and the pedal knob turning at once (Russ is my professional knob turner hahah so it's very much like a dialogue between us!)

I'm really poor and love these sorts of ambient lofi effects to bits, is there any solution for me? I guess using a multifx for lo fi delay, adding vibrato etc., wondering if there are any good cheap pedals or VSTs? VSTs with this vibe would be amazing since I'm more of an electronic music maker than anything. Closest pedal I have for this is the Memory Boy, esp. if you use an EXp to crank the delay time so it does the analogue bitcrusher thing!
