I've been trying to figure out what this demo reminds me of, specifically the first piece with the sub shimmer, and I've finally figured it out - its got a lot of vibes of the theme from The Shape Of Water, with like a hint of the Final Fantasy IX soundtrack about it. Or maybe I'm mental, who knows! Sounds lush anyway!

I would never have known the wonders of this and other pedals without having discovered this amazing channel, so huge thanks for luring me in with weirdness and comedy, then providing valuable gear info and demos! I normally think that Earth Quaker pedals seem to be a little over the top and silly. But they really do pair well with the harp. It's almost like they aren't guitar pedals as such but are instead a line of pedals originally intended for harp. It's really beautiful to hear how you use these pedals and how they enhance your already beautiful playing. I also like that you spend more time playing and just experimenting with the sounds than crapping on like most pedal demo guys.subscribed and loving your content.

It sounds absolutely lovely here. A very addictive pedal. The octave modulation is almost theremin like, musical and beautifully spooky. I prefer that preset to a similar thing on the NightSky…I guess that is an algorithm thing😂. Your chord progressions go down my favourite dark music alleys. Loving these vids! Just subscribed. Apologies if this has already been asked, is someone adjusting the effects live while you're playing in these vids or are you adjusting it post playing?
@emilyharpist3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for listening!!! My videos are a mix of me playing live with the pedal while someone adjusts the effects, and reamping/adding the effects afterwards. I really enjoy both ways. When I play with the pedal in real-time, there's some potential for a nice dialogue/back-and-forth between the harp and the pedal; I can react to it's effects in real-time and adjust my playing accordingly. I feel more connected to the pedal that way. Other times, I sit with the pedal before recording and understand what type of plating works best with it, and record some parts DI/dry to reamp later. I really enjoy reamping my dry playing, because I can really sit and understand the pedal and its functions, and I can take a few times to really dial in something nice without having to worry about the performance.

@@dougbeacon9760 Oh thanks for telling me. I'll check it out now.
@emilyharpist3 жыл бұрын
It's so interesting, I haven't found a fuzz/distortion that really works well for harp. At one point I owned Pallisades, Plumes, Westwood, Metal Zone (LOL) and a handful of bit crushers. They can get really muddy since the harp is so resonant, and I can't palm-mute or anything like that on harp to remedy it. I love EQD Westwood because the built-in EQ allows me to really dial in some cool sounds alongside other pedals, but overdrives and distortions haven't worked so well on their own for me at least!
