Best crime drama ever, can almost smell and taste grimey and gritty seventies London, thanks for the memories.

Best British Police show ever. Thaw and Waterman are the Lennon and McCartney of TV cops!

I don't know why Dennis Waterman, wasn't an Olympic sprinter, that man could run. Total Legend.

He could throw a great punch too. Totally convincing. And a much underrated actor imo.

Cops nowadays wouldn`t even climb up that ladder without a 3 day 10 man risk assessment, they`ve gone soft.

Its the lawyers not the cops. squeezing every penny out for every little incident. Would you turn down the poss of a few thou for a minor injury? Thought not.

Pure bliss!!!, when London had its own cockney heritage and tourists could revel in the pleasure of seeing/hearing how the natives in their choice of holiday destination live. Nowadays I'd be the only cockney on the train, whilst getting g.b.h of the earholes from indian, Muslim, Polish, Romanian, Hungarian and just about every language other than English. And American tourists wondering where the bloody hell all the English people ave gone?

Brilliant upload, really interesting stuff. Love 1970 & 80s television. Something dirty about 1970s London? Same with New York? Now everything has been gentrified and lost its character.

Nice observation. I'm sure both cities still have shoddy areas but they don't use them in TV programmes anymore!

The Coal wagon scene is not Caledonian Road but Chelsea Basin Goods near to where Imperial Wharf station is on the West London Line

Nice video. The sites and sounds of slam door London. I find that scene with the 4CIG at Mortlake in Sweeney 2 particularly memorable, with the hissing rails of the approaching train adding to the tension. Notice how in the scene immediately prior, when Regan and Carter are climbing the stairs of the footbridge, the sound of a diesel locomotive and coaches is dubbed on as the CIG passes!

Great to see old Euston as it was in the 70s. Only thing missing : should be a sprinkling of Scottish dossers swigging Special Brew and asking for 10 p. ? Apart from that......

The last scene is not north of Kings Cross; more likely southern region with 3rd rail power. Great load of clips, manythanks.

Fantastic collection. Many thanks. It just goes to show how differently TV was shot in the 70s; the sound, photography and the use of public locations. 6:01 Look at the arrested fella hiding his face ! Was that part of the story?

The second scene is near Vauxhall Station. The one referring to being near Hammersmith is actually closer to Shepherds Bush between Wood Lane and Latimer Road stations.....
