My brother bought me the 'Hellraiser' single when I was 10; I liked Alice Cooper and David Bowie but the Sweet were 'my band'. Saw them when they toured New Zealand in 1975 and it was great. My first 'rock single' and my first rock concert!

I love how Andy still manages to "orchestrate" his signature guitar sounds - like he ever did before. This makes me feel, some of the classic Sweet-action is still alive, still happening. All the musicians involved here are helpful & great. But Andy Scott - with his very own guitar work - IS "The Sweet" on top of that. He´s iconic, in my eyes!

As a young kid in the early 70's, Sweet were my favourite band. The first time I saw them (by them, I mean Andy Scott and the then line up) was about 10 years ago. I couldn't believe Andy was still doing it then, let alone 10 years later!

Great great songs that need to be played live and kept alive. As a very young teenager they were my gateway band to rock. I hope when I am long gone these songs still get played, covered, sampled ect ect.

It's great to see this band still going! Ballroom Blitz is the song that introduced me to hard rock, and subsequently made me a lifelong metal fan. I saw The Sweet play sometime in the 90s but by then Brian Connolly's voice was shot, it was sad to watch.

Ich hatte das große Glück 2x die Sweet in ihrer Originalbestzung damals in Berlin zu sehen... es war fantastisch. Und dann ca. 2013 auf einer ihrer "Abschiedstouren" und ich muß sagen, es hat funktioniert, einfach weil die Kompositionen, die Arragements und die Texte geial sind. Wüßte keine Band außer Queen und Deep Purple, die da mithalten könnte.

Ich finde auch, in Ihrem Sinne, dass die Tonart des Orginals, das die Performance bestimmt, hier auf Nummer sicher getrimmt wurde. Anders gesagt, ich finde "auch", dass Conolly ans Äußerste seiner persönlichen Möglichkeiten gegangen ist - ohne dass er es sich anmerken ließ. Das bedeutet mir was. Schade sehr, sollte er wie oben gesagt, nunmehr tot sein. Die Sweet-Gitarre, das könnte nur der Alte so können, ditto. Engimatisch! Cheers!

Der erste Sweetsong den ich hoerte war „the lies in your eyes“ , der war auf einem Ariolasampler drauf (Hitexplosion 1978 oder so). Leider war das dann schon relativ am Ende der B.Connolly Ära. Aber „Level Headed“ und „cut above the rest“ waren auch noch starke Alben, obwohl sie dann stilistisch ganz anders waren als in der Glamrockzeit.

I don’t care what anyone says.. Andy Scott is still writing new music and keeping Sweet alive. I very recently over the summer saw the American version that is more or less considered “official”?
