this is where Sweet started turning up their Amps on the pop side.. BUT the B-sides showed their versatility and taking over the writing credits. "Done Me Wrong All Right", "Man from Mecca", "New York Connection", "Need a Lot of Lovin'", etc

I grew loving Sweet, they were big through my teen years…. Action is a fantastic song you should check out, Rebel Rouser, Peppermint Twist, Fever of Love.

This was a monster hit in 1972, number one in Germany for weeks and they wore their classic silver and Indian clothing which was the coolest thing ever at that time…thank you for your reaction…

Loved this song and the feel good music that came out in the 70's leading into the massive disco phase followed by the emergence of punk music which more or less shouted "to hell with that" in the loudest way possible.

The Sweet must have been one of the few bands to cover an Archie's track - Get on The Line. (yes I know Johnathon King as Saccariine did Sugar, Sugar ). Hiawatha is Gilbert and Sullivan. Running Bear was by Johnny Preston (columbia in the US.Philips in the UK)

Hey guys, I sent an email about Mungo Jerry vs. The Mixtures recorded a version of Mungo Jerry's ''In The Summertime'' and Mungo Jerry recorded a version of The Mixtures' ''The Pushbike Song''. The email has links to very good videos. There's one video that combines both versions of ''The Pushbike Song'' (The Mixtures and Mungo Jerry). You don't have to search for ''The Pushbike Song'' by either artist. The video in the email has both versions. There's also a good video for The Mixtures' version of ''In The Summertime'' in the email, which can be used if ever you do a ''who did it better?'' video on ''In The Summertime''.

The idea of anyone not enjoying the Chinn/Chapman songs of The Sweet makes zero sense to me. They were one of the best hit songwriting duos of the 70s. "it's silly bubblegum" a lot of people will say.... yeah, so what? Life should be enjoyed - not to sit through horrific songs like "Love is like Oxygen" (that song sucks so much and I can't fathom why so many people like it and think it's LESS embarrassing than the clear party hits like "Wig Wam Bam"). This one is a huge favourite. Cheers!
