When you are all done with the Pop Rock portion of The Sweet, which is all good, give a listen to the historical first Worldwide Thrash Metal Sweet song "Sweet FA". These guys were versatile, able to play anything, "even the phonebook" which is a phrase from my time in the early 60's

Check out Sweet's B-sides, showcasing the band's versatility with a much heavier (but just as good, if not better) side. Give a listen to "Someone Else Will", "Set Me Free", "Sweet F.A.", "Cockroach" (among many other killer jams) and you will swear that there's no way this is the same band singing Wig Wam Bam. lol Sweet also played funk, blues, and some jazz-oriented tunes as well. Truly a great band... it's a shame they aren't more well known.

Loved this one! I was around when it was first on the radio! The Sweet was a real pin up band back then! They were in all the teen magazines. Another good one from this phase is Teenage Rampage - really rocky and catchy. Fox On the Run was another hit for them. And they did alot of heavier rock which I didn't know about then, only discovered it now - worth listening to. I am only now opening my eyes to the vast catalogue of songs these bands often did - often not widely known to me or the general fan base at the time because people only knew about the ones promoted on radio. I wish the Sweet had received more attention back then, after their initial hits. I am glad you play quite a few songs from artists you like, because often their most commercial hits do not do them justice. (More early Blondie please! IN THE FLESH, DREAMING, UNION CITY BLUE, ATOMIC, CALL ME, SHAYLA, FADE AWAY AND RADIATE, ACCIDENTS NEVER HAPPEN, 11.69, PICTURE THIS. And ALOT MORE! Thank you for your channel!

The German TV show Disco used to regularly show clips from Top Of The Pops, such as this one. The BBC, in its lack of wisdom, erased most of the videotapes of the show. But the German network ZDF preserved its videotapes of Disco, so any surviving TOTP clips come from the ZDF archives.
