That's really a beautiful piece of sculpture. But if I wore it as a ring, the quillons would catch on something, and then the ring would break at the thin place where the "point" touches the "pommel".

The one thing i would ask over your design, not by changing the layout, is to add a gem to the hilt of the sword. That, in my opinion, would make the the ring stand out even more in its unique design.

Hey scaffardil, Just want to say your videos are awesome and i always check into your channel to see if you have new videos. Today I started making a sword ring just like this, and I used your video as an inspiration for how to make it. A few issues with it, but i think it will still look good when finished. Ill be sure to leave a comment with a link to the photo album of my work pieces on this video when im finished, I would love to get any feedback or input you have for me when the piece is finished. I notice you are able to start hacking away with your saw without starting off slowly like i have to. can I ask what blades you use most often? how many teeth per inch/how many teeth per millimeter? thanks again and I look forward to seeing your next video, hope you keep making them. :)

The only change I will make is to set a small moss agate in the pommel instead of lettering. (its just a personal preference, nothing wrong with lettering). I really appreciate your replies. thank you so much. I know i can get a mass produced ring. that's not what I want . one of a kind ring, hand made by you would be nice. (makers mark and all). I will draw one up. and send it to you. I have been an artist all my life. my whole family are musicians and stuff. my grand uncle. ( my grandfather's brother) made violins. my grand father was a machinist. and owned a saw sharpening business here in san diego. he has since past and I have his onglette gravers and bezel mandrels. all kinds of tool steel. punches. hand engravers. really old set of parallel jaw piers. My mother has since past also. I inherited her jewelry. I have a bunch of faceted stones, all different cut and sizes. there are 2 baguette cut and 3 round cut rubies. that i have plans for a ring for myself. there beautiful. well it's supper/ talk to you later. your the man. keep up the good work. oh I was an idiot and chipped a couple stones already. I apparently pushed the prongs on a basket setting to hard.I have to b more careful. at least they were my stones and not a clients. lol......chow. !
