i think the minari could also be a symbol for the family’s relationship. when their financial and family situation was at its worse, when the barn burned down, is when the family strengthened and came together. jacob finally chose his family and monica over his dream, their scene during the fire showed they were still willing to fight and love for each other. and david finally ran, he ran for his grandmother showing he accepted and loved her. this is all reflective of minari thriving under harsh conditions. this is a great video essay your take on the symbols in this movie was beautiful.

Even after seeing the film twice, I missed out on things that I learnt in this video. Thank you for making this video. Enlightening. I have another observation to make, even South Korea flag colours are Red, Blue and White.

This movie made me cry. My parents are refugees of the Vietnam war. My brothers and I are the sacrifices, it's hard but worth it because I get to see my little brother live the American dream. I'm okay with that.

questions, apart from them being korean, their struggle could be anyone's, not just immigrants, anyone that is on a budget and starts from the ground up would experience this.

I was this age as a child in the 80's in Canada as immigrants here, this was before Korea was cool, Korea was considered super lame and poor, that's why the boy doesn't like the Korean smell.
