Now it somewhat makes sense why Madh-Island is considered as a gaothan and not a Koliwada, the answer was so simple

What Dr.Sanjay said is true, in Kerala the dalit women had to wear stone necklace (kallu malla) to cover their breasts.

Nowadays we don't see kolis wearing lot of gold as before. They have become poor now.
