I managed to get this achievement, in my case, I built 2 docks one in front of the other so they blocked the river, at the same I made fire ships, when the canon galleons came they got stuck in front of the docks, then started attacking the docks, here I used the fire ships and Eagle Warriors to struck down the canon galleons

Good job pulling this one off. Also since you mentioned it: In the campaigns most of the time to defeat someone it simply means taking out all TCs and castles, but some levels, especially older ones can be more obscure about it. Got me thinking if you'd ever wanna try something like this with a viewer challenge, needing to keep someone who is sandbagging alive. Though Diplo is of course scarier.

In old version, game force you to win against Spainsih by capture horse only. Defeat Spainish just added later to have more win condition even unable to capture horse.

Such great commentary on this one! I was laughing the whole time, takes me back 20 years to playing this with friends in high school. It was always so enjoyable to get together and play in the same room, non stop laughing from just having fun playing a game, the good ole days!

Monks were my saviors, I had to load and save the game quite a few times but I eventually managed to convert the cannon galleons, making this scenario so much easier. Also, to stop red from defeating Tabasco, I built a base there so that they got entertained destroying mine.

hey hera, key to "defeating" enemies in campaigns is destroying all TCs , Castles and Towers. unless stated otherwise.

As a campaign player I can say that A.I player resignation triggers are often kind of weird and inconsistent. Cortez is definitely at his most stubborn here, as for the other two times you have to fight and defeat him in this campaign, you only have to destroy his Town Centers and Castles in the 6th mission, and in the 5th one you only have to destroy his only Town Center. It's actually possible to take him out with your starting army in the latter mission, so you only need to deal with the Tlaxcala.

Dock block is the only thing that works for me. Did it on xbox so no microing and for some reason that TC was going going down at the 5min mark for me, even on normal difficulty!

I tried this achievement so many times and I got it just Because I somehow bugged the Spanish AI, I don't remeber how but Cortéz didn't attacked Tabasco after the initial attack, they attacked me instead xD

The IA sometimes go for the human player regarless if they can destroy the weaker enemies.

@@JAKEATO Yeah but in this particular mission they are scripted to always destroy Tabasco first, hay won't attack your base until Tabasco's TC no longer exists, I think I bugged them Because I atacked Cortéz with an eagle or something before they could try to attack Tabasco so I only needed to defend Tabasco from Tlaxcala while I defended my base from Cortéz instead of both of them going for Tabasco

If you make demos really early the cannon galleons stay put at the back of Cortez base, so I got it on hard mode too. Also, I think the achievement is bugged and you can only get it via the ‘horses’ victory but maybe that has been fixed. Didn’t see it get completed.
