Damn brother! I hate to see that she took that much damage. I hope you find a way to keep the loop for safety but install it a way that in case the joint fails the driveshaft has way to fall away from the transmission. I know that sounds impossible or crazy but I know you, you will come up with something that will prevent from this happening again. I’m just throwing darts here but maybe modify the loop so it drops the shaft a bit lower and away from tail shaft and the yoke so it doesn’t destroy everything when it’s spinning out of control. Good luck buddy. If you weren’t so far I would give you a fresh Turbo 400 I have that just has a noisy pump that you could swap out and have a tranny that was built for the gold Buick I sold. That was my plan but on closer inspection I think the X pipe will keep it from falling down far enough to clear each other. It may work it will be close.

I had similar issues with my 80 Buick regal caused by wheel hop, tore everything up , I put aftermarket upper and lower control arms on the rear end and never had wheel hop issue again

Dam you sure trashed the transmission, maybe reddo the loop in the shape of a pill, So the shaft can drop away from the transmission when it comes undone the next time. And IMO the turbo 400, the C6, and the 727 are well worth using, if you can. 🏁👍

I agree in all areas but in this case a th400 would not of helped. I will have to swap the cross member and drive shaft if I do. I had a good bop th400 I sold but I know where there is another I can get.

A similar thing happened to me with my g.Body But not as bad . Your motor is put down some torque.

Were you able to make some clean passes with this setup before she came apart? This was just a particularly harsh hook up?

@@nateb8245 lots on the street and one at the track. The one at the track I left easy to see what the track would hold and short shifted just left it in drive. It ran 12.7 like that but has 12.3 in it easy.
