It was a nasty little 360. 12.21 on motor 11.31 on 100 shot. We jetted it for a 150 but the track wouldnt hold and it cut out do to low fuel pressure safety switch so we knew the tank was sucking air under g force. Filled it up and that was the end.

Use 307 Olds motor mounts and 307 frame pads from a g body cutlass. Chain the driver side down it will rip apart the drivers side mount in a couple weeks.

This 66' 425 sorta fell in my lap and have the 85 Monte so I'm gonna Frankenstein it. It's what I got and gonna run with it. Going true old school hot rodding. @@wildrosegarage4208 Nice, got a 1973 charger all original factory 400 T handle slap stick center console with buckets just turned 80,000 miles. Sat in a carport for about 18 years and I've had it since 05'. A couple others I'm trying to jump back and forth on. I'll definitely hit you up. I freely admit I'm more of a parts changer but trying to research things and videos. Trying to figure it out.

I hear you don't know what it is. I had one for a while drove it everywhere and then switched to a 03 7.3 powerstoke for a good 12 years and its been a great truck but there is something about the old idi that keeps calling me back.

Usually 4cyl 2wd have the box you want. Keep the pitman arm on they work. I think there $200 new from rock auto.

You can do a lot with factory stuff if you know what to look for.

Good to know. I think since the 727 filter is bigger and sucks from both sides it will be way better than the small th350 filter.

I hear you but a stiff chassis is worth a couple pound in my opinion.

I kind of made it for you. If you ever buy a monte carlo you don't need to spend money on aftermarket stuff use all factory braces from G body models and Z28 convertible sway bars and coils and it will be as good as anything for cheap and it all just bolts in. Better setup in my opinion.

I like them all to. This was a fine little motor until it wasnt but not its fault. I am a big fan of Buick nailheads, Not much of a fan of there stuff after there 455s made power but very weak designs. I am excited to put together a 400 mopar for this car. I think it will really haul the mail.

I can give you some tips. A foot ball or air bag in the passenger rear spring @10psi. Solid or poly rear controll arm bushings with at least the lowers boxed. Remove front sway bar, v6 front coil springs, Calvert 90/10 front shocks. That setup will get you in the right direction.

My car has Olds power. This car has been mopar powered from the start and ran well.

The place is a joke ran by fools. They cant even cook a hotdog there. All there tanks were empty but one my guess is fury race fuels has not been paid and there vented tanks so it wont keep as well. There food and fuel are one of the same. There fuel makes your motor spill its guts and there food will make you. There head tech guy built the cage in that car that had to be cut out.

Some of them are the same but not these I found out. These are magnum commando heads. There not anything special. I think I could do a decent 400 that will run harder and cost the same as fixing this 360.

IT sure does. It let go 1 second into the first pass after filling up. Charged him $250 for that fuel. Out of 8 race fuels only one had fuel in the tank and it was older than me.

@@JustMoparJoe We were going to cut the bellhousing off and put on a big block bellhousing that bolts on behind the pump.

I love the 400 to for its strong block huge bore short stroke. So this is the plan Joe. Let me know your thoughts keeping it on the very cheap. 400 block, Forged 383 crank and rods. Probably K.B. hypertechbic pistons, 906 heads or equal to with some bowl porting and milled .070 and milled intake surface, Valve springs and early style adjustable rockers, Howards cam solid flat tappet 507/495 lift 243/251 @ 050 297/305 advertised 109lsa 103intake centerline, h.v. oil pump, true roller chain, shim head gaskets, single plane intake, 750dp carb, fender well headers, .034 ring gap on top two rings, And once its ironed out we will start to hit it with some spray. @@wildrosegarage4208 thanks buddy! I definitely kept my stock cast crank and Ed gave it a super balance with the b and m flexplate. So many guys leave that tip ring gap too tight and it kills the kb piston. My setup was happy with the 535 horse and a 150 shot from out the gate. That block and bottom end is in my truck now with the Stealth heads. I think it should run well. Your cam choice is a little rowdier than mine on LSA and duration. I would go with 1.6 rockers and get a little more lift out of it, if you’re buying aftermarket rockers anyway. Good luck and let me know how I can help 💪🏻

@@wildrosegarage4208 a few other things, you may have to lightly clearance the shim gaskets so they don’t hang in to the chamfers on the tops of the cylinders. You know I went with the 440 source stock replacement rods. You could go stock rods just fine if they are reconditioned with arp bolts. 383 crank would be nice if you can find a good one that doesn’t need reground.

Answered my question . HKS sells an expensive one. Link makes a $300 one, but it only drives a flashing light, so it would have been of no use in your case. Neither interfaces to old style ignitions.

@@alzaidi7739 I would not be suprised if that tank had old 87 in it and marked 112. Smelt nothing like race fuel out the pipes or in the tank. Smelt like lawn mower gas that has been left in a shed for a few years. No point in telling anyone at our track they are a bunch of foolish clowns.

I would say. Out of 8 race fuel tanks at the track all were empty except one and it was older than me. Mikes fuel tank smells like old lawn mower gas. No b.s. Pissed right off Lasted 1 second on that crap old fuel.

@@wildrosegarage4208 I would actually stick with a small block if your spraying it. Use a 318 and show UTG Bottle Rocket how it's done.

@@claytonstoolbox I would never touch a 318, 340 or 360 our worst passes on this thing are better than bottle rockets best with less spray, gear and converter. We pretty much had that small block maxed they can't make SBC or Windsor power without going to a W2 style head with offset rockers. The push tube slot pinch is to much without them and can't flow anymore. We could build a 400 for the same price as complete W2 heads. I hope it runs mid to low 11s on motor.

I have had pretty good luck with them, Shift kit, Ford type F fluid and a cooler and they will surprise a guy. Lots of Fords with c4s out there and mopars with 904s to. I am a big powerglide fan in the right setup to.

Stronger yes, But heavy and rob power to turn. Th350 are stronger than people think.

I got a super t10 today. Guy told me it was a m22 but i ran the numbers super t10 it is.

I am not into crashing. It has v6 front coils and the front is way to low. I have z28 convertible front coils to put in and we will see how it sits after. Thanks for watching.
