The Taj Mahal is a spectacular white marble mausoleum in Agra, India, which absolutely blew us away with its beauty. As powerful an experience as it was to finally visit a wonder of a world and a place that is just as incredible as it is promised to be, editing and posting this video is somewhat emotional for us. This is due to how connected this location is to us having to leave behind Project 2020 for an undetermined amount of time.
Project 2020 (our travel vlog series) is unfortunately suspended for the foreseeable future! Our creative spirits are alive and well, so subscribe for ongoing content and please, stay safe!

40 years ago, I visited the Taj Maghal. With friends we walked to the Taj. We thought it's a shot walk because it didn't look far away but we were so wrong. We walked closer and it grew bigger and more details of the architecture beauty were seen. I couldn't help taking deep breaths and I understood what 'breathtaking' really meant! It was saying back then due to the air pollution the white marble would turn grey so we decided to visit as soon as we could. Glad that the Indian government did preservation and the Taj Maghal is still looking so stunningly beautiful. Thanks for bringing back my fond memories!

No the Taj Mahal Mahal would not fall as it was expected in 2011. Actually the foundation of Taj Mahal is made out of wood. This would Woodstock the water from the Gardens and river and would not rot. Since water and air both are required for it to rot. The airtight construction on top did not allow air to enter for years. And the Mahal stood there. But when the water level of the river lowered it maid space for air to enter. Hence the wood started rotting and the structure started sinking leading to cracks. But a lot of efforts are put in in and now the foundation also has steel and concrete pillars to support the structure along with its 500 year old wood. The river is being restored so that no more air vents are created and the present vents are being sealed. The Rotten pieces of wood are also replaced with newer ones and the old Woods are chemically treated. All efforts have been taken and are being taken to maintaining the foundation of the structure as well as the beauty and Shine of the marble as well. I hope the structure will stay as it is for I hope the structure will stay as it is for centuries to come so that the future generation also see the architectural wonders of that time. And appreciate us that is the present generation for our efforts on strengthening the structure.

These two places are completely different from the places you have visited in north india. South is really like tropical paradise and north east is india’s hidden gem filled with lush mountain and valley In south there are many cites like Mysore which are super clean unlike Dehli and agra. ahh the reaction is so perfect..... due to security reasons they do not allow to take pictures at many sacred places over here. Photography is prohibited inside the main mausoleum as well as touching is prohibited also i guess. First when I visited the Taj during 1986, tourists were allowed to view the actual underground vault where the actual tombs are situated & I was lucky to see it. The tombs on top inside the mausoleum are the identical replicas.But early 90s, the underground crypt was closed for public viewing.

By not looking up you missed one of the things that the Taj is famous for. Its an optical illusion. When outside the main gate, the Taj fills the entire gate opening. Then as you progress through the gate it seems to get smaller and smaller. Amazing.
