My first time hearing this trilogy. Oh my gosh! Each story is a gut punch with a knife twist at the end. Ren is a master story teller. We feel the desperation of the abused and unloved. So thankful to my mother for rescuing me from the abuse as a little girl. It was a strong brave act of love. I am so glad to see you reacting Ben. ❤

A Shakespearian tragedy masterfully told. The real tragedy is that intergenerational violence & trauma are all-to-common today. Which is why amazing, empathetic Ren made this trilogy. There's no one like him.

The trilogy can be so hard for so many of us to take in; I often worry about how it's hitting reactors, who are having to navigate it all in front of the camera and figure out how to talk about it when it might be especially painful on any number of levels. Certain moments still gut-punch me every single time, watching after so many times through it, and I don't always feel "up" to watching someone reacting to it (but ALWAYS eventually circle back to watch a reactor I enjoy, tackle it). Don't worry about having had to end your video quickly afterwards. No reasonable person can demand that a reactor perform through the kinds of emotions and mental turmoil the trilogy sometimes throws at a person. I mean, I'm sure you'd have rather been able to do some commentary afterwards, because that's what everyone wants to do after they've digested a new-to-them Ren song... TALK ABOUT IT! But sometimes, something just hits you too hard. Edit: and that, too, is a reaction. So.

You are correct. I could have just gone with the flow and spewed out a bunch of gibberish but in that exact moment I felt it was natural for me to end where I left it. For many reasons. I’m sorry if I left you or anyone wanting for more from me as a reactor. You are correct, sometimes it just punches us in the guy also! Not a song so much as a 3 Part Street Theatre Play. Ren is not just a mega-talented artist, he's also a powerful Social Commentator. He doesn't hesitate to tackle the hard topics. He said he was affected by a news story some years back of a young street kid who killed a young prostitute and was then killed himself by Police. He doesn't ask;"Oh why do these things keep happening?" He says; look! We KNOW WHY! We know how kids fall out of fractured families and a broken and vastly underfunded welfare system and wind up on the streets. The real question is; Why aren't we doing more to protect the innocent BEFORE they wind up as victims and/ or perpetrators?! You're not the only one who cried at the end...

This is honestly the best reaction to this song. "Wow" is perfect. It's like a gut punch. It's masterfully done. The pacing and structure are perfect. He just sets you up for the ending. I've been writing music for 20+ years and this still blows me away everytime I hear it. It's an emotion and some of the best storytelling I have ever heard more than music. He's not playing anything really complicated (besides the intros) but it's amazing how he's able to shift perspective and mood on the fly.
