1.Production/Songwriting, 2.Singing/Guitar Playing 3.Recording/Mixing 4.Psychology/Philosophy Maybe a podcast/YT channel, then a membership platform (I think I have an idea💡). I personally struggled putting together how to write and compose in this vast technology driven music world. It helped studying music technology, so I think I can teach by showing an example of how I write 🤔 brainstorming out here, apologies for the rant.

Thank you for encapsulating what I have been discovering over the last few years of struggling to be the best at everything. It seemed like there was no catching up to those people who had devoted their lives to a single skill set. I am first and foremost a musician, but have found myself passionate about photography, video production, and the law. After working for many years doing audio post for television, I am taking the first steps in creating my own business that incorporates all these facets under one hood. Heck, I’ll even transfer your vhs tapes to DVD’s because I can and people ask me all the time. Thanks for your inspiration and encouragement. Your new venture seems to have come at the perfect time.

Skills/interests: playing music (piano and bass), piano tuning, recording, instrument setup/repair, composition, video/photography and sound design for film, and teaching. I also enjoy playing music at church and just interacting with people in general especially if it’s music related! Thanks for making an inspiring video Graham. This is my first time leaving a comment and your video helped inspire and motivate me to stop just thinking and dreaming about what I want to do but to start with something and take action. I know this is a small (if it even is) a step toward my goals but it is something so thank you. All the best, -Dakota Daniels

Really this is something, Graham! Thank you from all my heart. I’ve read Scott’s book a few years ago, but forgot this concept. And now, you made me remember it. I’ve been following you for more than 5 years I think and I’m blessed that I found you. You really are doing a great job at what you do, really are an inspiration and even though I never bought from you (yet), I’m confident in what you’re saying, because you’re humble and you really helping with what you’re doing.

Thanks Graham. I came across your content recently and I am finding it very helpful. Thanks to this video, I now better understand that I am a story-telling, big-picture thinking, encourager who has the ability to teach and make others feel valued. Thanks again, my friend.

I've always loved music and filmmaking. I thought I would have to give up one to pursue the other, but recently I realized I could combine the two to create something unique to me. I've decided I'm going to put my energy into making high quality music videos for my songs. I've also noticed that since I'm doing all this by myself, it's very attractive to other filmmakers and musicians out there who are without a crew or a band. Thanks for another great video, Graham!

I think people find it hard to determine what their talents or gifts are. It might be worth wild for you to create a document that list different hard or soft skills that people can look at to help them determine what talents are. An example, as I was watching this video I was thinking about my talents. I listed a few of them on a paper but then when you said "encouragement" I realized that it was one of my skills also.

I do appreciate this!!! I love a lot of things and I am good at a lot of things but not a master of one thing I love. It always frustrates me to hear people and specifically educators or influencers say “you have a special gift that you owe to the world, blah, blah, blah. Not everyone is called to master one skill and spend their life on that one thing. Well said and I love your content! Been bingeing for a few days now...:)

Thank you, Graham! I recently purchased your book and now I'm watching your videos :) I love this concept and your content has helped me SO much lately, thank you!! My one question for you is, how to overcome not being an "expert" when you're just starting out? I don't think I've experienced my massive transformation yet. Or maybe I have but my limiting beliefs are creeping in without me realizing it? Any advice would be so appreciated!!

Thanks for purchasing the book! And great question. Here's the deal: people don't care about your credentials, they care about whether or not you can help them. So I would encourage you to start helping people get results - even if for free to start - so that you can confidently tell people what you can help them with. People pay for results!

Why not fitness for musicians? They historically have bad backs, bad posture, bad eating/drug habits 😉 and they don’t seem to make time to exercise

Coaching, Mentoring, Spiritual Development (ie. Church) and I just acquired my insurance license. I'm interested in music, men's fashon and accessories as well as traveling and nightlight. I've thought about creating a lifestyle brand around my insurance license to kind of give sales a little less of a stigma and waaaay less boring. Interesting in hearing your thoughts.

Hi Graham You are so right on about the constructive advice that you offer to the people. I really resonate with your approach and purpose for helping. A follower of yours for a couple of years now but this is the first time that I have contacted you. Everything happens when it is suppose to happen and now with this subject you discussed it sparked my fire. Just to let you know my talent stack is similar to yours but with a couple of twist. I am a musician, bass player, vocalist, songwriter, playwright and theater teacher for home school. I'm full of jokes and a avid power walker and nature freak. I meditate daily and I'm very spiritual. Not religious but open to all opinions. I was just thinking today that I wanted to teach people how to sing soulful vocals the way that I achieve them. So here I am looking at my talent stack and wondering what do you think? All the best to you as you are always in my prayers. You are a gift as we all are. Thanks again for your wisdom and sharing with the masses.

Hello my skills are singing, cooking, I love to bring people together and I love to help and be of assistance to people. I have no idea how to merge these together
@GrahamCochrane
@GrahamCochrane 6 жыл бұрын
Perhaps try and find out which of the two (singing and cooking) would be more valuable to people and then you could use your other talents to enhance that one. For example, if cooking is your thing you could start a cooking blog or youtube channel and you could somehow infuse your singing.
