They're like my older siblings. *Trusted adults.* It doesn't matter if we're just three years apart in age, both of them can legally vote and by the time I'm 18 they'll be old enough to drink. last summer, i was 20 (almost 21) and ended up at a small house party. there was a lot of substances that people where sharing and im from canada so i assumed everyone was of age (aka over 18). i started talking with the host, we bonded over both being ftm, we smoked, and eventually they started flirting with me. i wasn’t interested but i didn’t put my foot down yet as i saw no reason to. at around 3-4am, the topic of age came up and the guy had just turned *16* … i immediately felt so dumb that i missed all the signs (for example he would have been particularly immature for a young adult). i had a couple of talks with him that night and the next day about stranger-danger and “don’t flirt with people 5 years old than you” which was just as cringe as it sounds, especially when you’re trying to convince a drunk teenager who’s also flirting with you. (for reference, 16-21 is *technically* legal here, but ive never seen it, and the 16 y/o’s parents could definitely still call the cops and bring it to court) all of this to say, it’s extremely easy to not flirt with teenagers, and actually it’s everyone’s duty to enforce those limits. just like you would catch someone else’s child running into traffic, you should catch teenagers making decisions that require maturity they just don’t have yet. also, have y’all talked to a teen lately? i’m not that much older, but i am light years from who i was at 16, and teens have 0 game. like you can’t miss it. they just want validation and love, to be regarded as mature and be able to make real decisions for once; it makes them disgustingly easy to take advantage of… this guys is a MASSIVE creep

My mom was only one year older than her when she and my dad started dating. 17 and 19 and I don't feel like that's bad. Despite then liking each other, he refused to even consider going out with her until she was almost 18. But two months after they started dating they had a kid, me. They got married after my brother was a year old and now we have a little sister too. with my parents story the age gap isn't creepy to me because they had known each other since they were 8 and 10. And after she found out she was pregnant, her dad and stepmom were trying to convince her to not even tell my dad because she had moved 2 hours away when She found out she was pregnant. And she just left. Doesn't feel or sound creepy, because my parents were close in age and maturity and didn't get together until later. 2 years is a stretch for teenagers, and 3 years is just gross.

In Scotland age of consent is 16 so I as a 19 year old could date a 16 year old, but I wouldn't do it, cause morally it's weird, being 19 and dating is weird, it's a whole ass grey area cause if I date the age I want to date then they're morally wrong and most people my age in my area are not my type. The age range I want to date is like 26 - 42

In Texas (which I'm guessing is where he's from) the age of consent is 17 or people within 3 years of age. So 17+anything higher, 16+19 and 15+18 would all be legal

When yall say high school and college or highschooler and adult and its a 3 year gap, yall ain't talking JUST the age gap, yall are talking about their respective life stages. Its not just about the numerical age gap Think about how 25 and 30 is find, but 15 and 20 is horrific It's not about "its only 5 years" its all in context depending on the age The difference mentally between a 13 and 16 yr old is huge, and so is 16-19 And 19-25 As a 13 yr old i didn't see the issue with 18+ yr olds hitting on me At 16 i didn't see the issue with a 24+ yr old dating me At 24 the idea of dating a 16 yr old was repulsive to me, they're just little kids I couldn't believe someone my age could have dated and slept with me at 16

What he seems to not understand is that the age only ADDS to the creepy factor. It’s fuckin weird to be going out with your fans period.
