We become experts watching Yvonne. Could we get a certificate signed by you referring to our training in :' Domestic behavior of Friesian mares with foals.' I believe we learned a lot....we learned about horses that most never know who don't own any around the clock. They are as set in their ways as are people. They love being loved....no matter how tough or how brave they act. We also learned that in a small Friesian stud named Johnny lives a true lover; Giovanni the 'Italian Stallion!' All that and more we learned! Yvonne turned us into true horse-people. Thank you!

I have been going back and watching older videos. I love the geography of Friesland I love seeing those incredibly large grass fields. Those very large house scattered around the fields and beautiful different architecture than we have in the USA

Frieslan farmhouses are warm and inviting, like where my grandparents lived not far from Black Pearl Farms (stables for Friesians in Illinois). They are my fav mares because of their love of humans, as well as bulky conformation and prancing movements and ability to shift gaits so rhythmically. Ah, the dancing horses 💗 🏇

I love seeing all the mares together and seeing you work with them. You can look at each horse and just know what's going on with them, an amazing skill to have, and I think they also know when you need a cuddle too, Jocabien, Lianna, and Thekla are all very intuitive and I've noticed that the older they get the more pronounced it has become. They want to show you they love you even though they are a bit rough at times.its great seeing you get back to being your old self again. I love the fact that you have begun including both hh and inches. Shows that you guys truly do read the comments and take them into consideration! Thank you for that! Just a little heads up, hh are listed as a decimal. For example, Uniek is 16.2 hh, Pjirkje is 16 hh, Reintje and Richtsje are both 16.1, Saly and Sjirkje are 15.3, etc. The inches listing is usually used when speaking to someone who doesn't know horses. So written out, it would be Uniek 1.67m, 16.2hh (66 in). :) Also, I'm putting in a guess now, Johnny will be somewhere between 12 and 13hh. XD

When expressing height in hands, the common practice is to say the full number of hands, then the closest full inch. So, you would write 16, 16.1, 16.2 or 16.3, The next from 16.3 is 17. Down from 16 is 15.3, 15.2, 15.1, 15, and so on. When horse is less than 14 hands, 2 inches, that is what we call a pony. Very interesting, seeing them compared side by side! It's much easier, to see the differences between them, that way. Btw, I have noticed though, that all the mares look to be in better shape than brood mares usually are. To my untrained eye, anyway. By the end of summer, you can hardly tell, that most of them have had several babies already. Is that a trait of the Frisian breed or do you work all of them to some degree, to keep them in shape?
