Like what is it with a deer getting involved. Crazy rebuild and I am a sho enthusiast and have a 2010 on deck that has low compression cylinder 1. I can get it for just under $5k and I would need to find a mechanic to help with the build because I am not at that level. I would tear down and rebuild with supervision, but don’t have that one friend living near me any,pre and now it would be me paying for the work to be done. Oh what to do. Get the dam thing and make it live again, or find a newer cleaner model. I’m curious what’d you buy your SHO for. I don’t know the start of the story, but have watched the takedown / rebuild videos and i have mad respect for what you guys did together. The editing is dope. The music is awesome. The humor and comradery are the key parts to life and it’s nice to see you guys enjoying each other’s energy and I just see the appreciation / reciprocation. I want to so bad rebuild this SHO but I just a bit scared of it turning out more than what I expect it to be. If I roll I’ll let you know. Oh and the interior is a brown on black suede on seats, and doors and it is in superb condition. Black exterior. I’d prefer a newer model but not many chances like this coming around anymore. The SHO is a rare find imo, but maybe in other parts of the country it’s different. Live in utah now, nw colorado before, and Florida previously. They are more abundant down south but after this hurricane I’m not shopping for one in my hometown of fort myers anytime soon. Thanks for kick ass videos. Subscribed, and best of luck dudes.

Duuuude. Shame. I've lost 2 cars to deer at night in my decades on this rock. They NEVER run away from headlights. They always seem to commit to it and just run right into cars. I've had deer run into the street during the day and avoid the car. Usually they run away from it. And for all it's flaws I think the Taurus has one of the best sedan dashboards in the last 20 years. IMHO

Oof. I had to rewind a certain part a few times. I popped a deer in my work truck in March. It's a 40k lb box truck. It bent the bumper a little but the deer was screwed.

I just bought a 13 sho with a weak #3 cylinder. Suspecting loss of piston ring land and rings. As the clear flood mode cranking cadence definitely indicates a cylinder down but there are no codes and it has plenty of power and drives fine until low rpms at idle or in 6th gear at less than 1k rpms. My cheap smartphone inspection camera died so I can't look down in the cylinder yet. Weighing my options as it has 124k on the engine... i know this is old and probably won't get a reply but what was your total cost to repair? Did you do the complete timing kit including cam phasers and waterpump? My local (late model only) salvage yard has an ecoboost engine from a 16 with only 49k on it for 3,750 that I can literally just swap in without needing to buy anything else besides fluids so it will be a lot less work and I should be good for a 100k as a daily not a racer.
