A lot of Light Nightmares 2 is based off of japan If you look at some of the Buildings of the Pale City they have the classic japanese roof you see on like the Palace of the Emperor and Shinto Shrine Temples it's not just the Maw as you say in the video Heck, Mono's clothing at the end of the game is very much like a Japanese High School Uniform {While he's transforming} So, it makes sense the Teacher is based on a Yokai
@doragon2143 жыл бұрын
I think someone also once pointed out that the ovens used in the kitchen on the Maw are an old Japanese style of oven, there are lots of little hints of Japanese culture seen through the Maw but most of it is located in the Guest Area.

In one of the commercials on the televisions in the game little nightmares 2 based on lyrics interpretation, the viewers are being instructed to send their children away (possibly to the school, possibly to the hospital, possibly to the maw) and in return they will be able to get a new TV. It sounds cheesy but I was not consciously looking to hear these things and it offers an explanation for why no children are with their parents One commercial has someone yelling help in the background in Japanese.

Personally, I think what little nightmares is about is one of the scariest aspects of childhood, and that's growing up. To a kid the world adults live in is scarier than any nightmare because of what it turns you into. Greedy, glutinous, selfish, so consumed by your own base desires that your do anything to satisfy your own morbid appetites. And despite the Lovecraft focus of the second game that's still very much the case. If you not careful, the adult life well hollow you out, twist you, make you into a monstrous parody of yourself

The history and lore things can be amazing, and you never know when it could act as inspiration. The Jack-o-lantern, for example, dates back to an old Irish tradition of carving giant beets and turnips into lanterns, but where they get their name comes from Irish folklore in the form of a man known as Stingy Jack. Now, Jack was not a nice person, he was actually a terrible person in life, so terrible, in fact, that the devil himself met with Jack while the man was alive at several different times to try and lay claim to his soul personally, and Jack tricked him every time. On their last encounter, Jack actually forced the devil into swearing to never accept his soul into Hell, and Jack with newfound confidence in his life went on doing what he always did until he kicked the bucket. First, his soul rose up to the gates of Heaven, where he was almost immediately kicked back down to earth for the massive list of evil deeds he had performed. Jack wandered the mortal realm as a spirit for some time before literally trying to break into Hell, the devil point-blank told him he was adhering to their deal and had Jack chased out, even throwing one of the glowing coals of Hell, some say the embers of Hell have the power to burn souls to ash, after Jack. So, Jack found himself a giant beet (some versions say it's a turnip) and carved the plant into a lantern then carefully placed the coal in his makeshift lantern to act as a light as his soul wanders the earth. Some accounts of the story even say he tries to trick others into becoming his unwitting companions until the final day of judgment comes. Now, given all that, what does Jack sound like to you?

A Rokurokubi appears as a main character in the manga Yokai Girls..it's..um..one of those ecchi manga to be sure..BUT they do talk about the lore of the various Yokai and even how there are regional differences at the back of the book when a new one is introduced. It even talks about how Yokai NEED to scare people to exist as once people stop fearing them or believing in them, they fade away. This actually happened to a Yokai that the Rokurokubi knows, the Yokai of mountain echos. Once science explained how echos worked, the Yokai believed to cause them faded away forever. The Yokai in Yokai Girls (there ARE male Yokai too in the series btw) literally feed on fear, you actually see the Rokurokubi scare the main male character and a ball of energy escapes him when he screams and she eats that and it's explained that the Yokai feed on fear to live..they CAN eat normal people food but to stay alive they need fear, and the more feared they are the more powerful they are. The Rokurokubi in the series is nice though and has the hots for the main male..of course..it IS a 17+ manga after all.

I definitely agree with the idea of the teacher being some perverted image of what she once was. I personally feel like that's really the case for pretty much all the enemies in Little Nightmares, all of them seem to have some bad quality that's blown up times ten and shapes how they look. the only time we see a human turn into a monster is with Six at the end of Little Nightmares 2, and in that case, she becomes a chaotic mess who is incredibly reclusive and will become violent when someone threatens her only source of comfort, her music box. it's like the very first time we meet her when she's trapped behind a wall with the music box, except now her loneliness is blown up and she looks disfigured, no longer wanting to look for a better future.

Have you ever heard of Ghost Squad? It's an on rails shooter that had a "ninja" mode. It swapped your guns for shuriken, some setpieces for Japanese stuff, and enemies for ninjas(The helicopter boss transformed into a flying kite ninja) I wish I knew where it was, that game was fun on a bun. Oh yeah, my point. So when you threw a shuriken at a Japanese doll, their necks would grow like this.

Of course, we have seen him make exceptions for youkai in the past as well, but there was once a time when he put a lot of things to a stop, and has become more mature and discerning. I love both aspects of Goombah as well, growing as a character who is more...how do I say this... I can't without offending the Goombah. Sorry, I wish I had words for it. Best I keep them inside, not saying them for him.
