I imagine this Chopin work as a conflict between good and evil, enthousiasm and sadness. I'm happy to hear again such a magnificent story told by the piano. Thanks, Traum!

He dedicated this piece to Schumann, who es bipolar, so it might also be that. I like you interpretation as well though
@jonstewart4645 ай бұрын
@@yorusaka3554 Fascinating. Always sounded exactly like bipolar disorder to me, the way the descent into chaos and despair feels so fast and inexorable, and eventually the storm recedes by its own accord. Incredible composition, reaching the very edges of the soul. Wonderful playing!
@essentialist125 ай бұрын
This sounds so much like Schubert.. So calming and bittersweet the lyrical melodies. I heard that Chopin dedicated this Ballade to Schumann, and this was reciprocated by Chopin because Schumann had dedicated his Kreisleriana, Op. 16 to him earlier in time.

This is Traum's second time uploading piece(like scherzo no 2), but this time it feels more natural and gives honestly it's so heartbreaking at the very end as the happy F major turns into that a minor chord since all the past storm. Very good interpretation as usual, good luck in Seoul Traum!

My favorite Chopin ballade… I loved your old interpretation so I’m excited to listen to this one!
@kas-xe5ku5 ай бұрын
There's something about this performance that really sets it apart from the previous one. It's refined, more fluid, pays closer attention to smaller details, and stays faithful to the score's indications (the crescendo on the trills near the coda stood out to me). The older performance is passionate and has a sense of suspense and tension that really gives excitement to the whole piece. Although I think I prefer the previous recording slightly more (the coda is just too powerful!), this performance is nothing short of phenomenal nonethless.

I discovered this piece on your channel a pretty long time ago. Hearing it inspired me to learn it myself, so I started learning it. Just a few weeks ago, after taking a bit of a break from it, I finished learning it. I would (and still do) come back to your video for ideas since I wasn't learning it with a teacher, but most of the time I come back to it just to listen to it. Your rendition of this piece is one of my favorites, and now it's my favorite piece by Chopin. Seeing this video pop up in my notifications made me happy.

did you learn how to play piano on your own or with a teacher?
@personthatexists925 ай бұрын
@@pastzk9253 I have had a teacher the entire time I've been playing piano, but I worked on pieces that were way out of the level I was supposed to be at (I progressed very quickly at the time), and eventually my teacher couldn't help me very much anymore, so I got a new teacher. From then on, I've almost always had a teacher, excluding the times between switching teachers.

OG's know that traum has played this piece before. But there's something more interesting about this one. He plays the climax at a steady metzoforte, not the loud torrent that most others play it at. Same can be observed for all of the "anger" moments. It feels like, to me, compressed anger, the one you can't let out.
