Most Jerks especially the Suspending Rogues need tuned to stay neutral in the water. 4.5, 5., or 5.5” Rogues always need a little help out of the package. ( Suspend tape etc…) The swimming pool is very helpful to adjust jerkbaits. The Falcon 4 power rods are perfect for this technique. I have some 6’6” Falcons customized with 7” rear cork handles that shine for jerkbaits. Rob

I fish a jerkbait year round. Great video and great tips! Honestly I catch more fish on a jerkbait in 80 degree weather than in the cold. It’s a tremendous bait to get a good hole fired up.

Hey two questions,what size snaps do you use.? Are you throwing the regular rogues or the super rogues?

New sub. Just started fishing JBs last year and caught 3 or 4. Challenging to use from shore without deepwater shoreline on our highly pressured waters in SoCal. I like throwing the light JBs on my spinning gear and medium to heavier lure on baitcaster.

Great video. I have two 6’5” Falcon Jerkbait Specials. Looking at adding another but considering the 6’8” Expert. What’s the difference in action other than the length and what other applications can the 6’8” Expert be used for? Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, it will be very close. The HDC-66M would be a good option too, it is just a shorter rod.

Can I use my 7ft. Bucoo Medium, Moderate action rod for jerkbaits

This rod is the right 4 power , but the handle length and the rod length is too long to maximize the jerkbait. You can certainly use it, but there are better tools for the trade. If you are on a budget try the Falcon HD model 6’8” it is a 4 power rod with a 7.5” rear handle . Rods in the 6’6” to 6’10” length range work best for jerkbaits. I use 6’6” 4 power Falcons customized with 7” cork handles for jerkbaits. The shorter handle is nice when you have on layers of winter clothing. The handle does not get in your way. Rob

Well this video was put out a year ago, just now seeing it, and needed a new rod, well your video was good so I bought one 199.00 not a bad price for a rod, just one question is that a Lew’s reel 6.8 ?? Hope to hear back from you on that…
