We didn't land on the telecaster, the telecaster landed on us.

Love the "thick" sound of that Tele
@lazvt84697 сағат бұрын
That's the word....thick....relative to my Strats. Became a single coil 63 year old fan a couple years ago...with 12 Teles. Tele's rule....but you need great pups to get the magic out of them.
@Uuur107 сағат бұрын
@lazvt8469 that plus a resonating body... = about my favourite electric guitar sound. Some other Teles just sound brittle to me. I'm uninitiated. I need to go to a store one day and try two dozens.

@@Uuur10 As a lefty...I have to buy unseen. Most stock Tele's (except my CS and LSL) did sound 'brittle'...so I always get better pups...which can even sound different in different guitars also. It's fun to experiment... I have a budget AIO Tele with Suhrs that sounds damn close to my CS...but those same Suhrs sounded thin/bright on HBs and a CV50.

Sean, I totally have the perfect follow up video idea for you because I have already written the perfect Bruce Springsteen type of song for this. Yup. Want a crack at it? Btw-Yes, it seems I did use perfect twice.

Your pattern would be much easier to play if you don't use the thumb to play the next string under. Just use the thumb, 1, 2, 3. And shift to lower strings as needed. You're making it harder than it is.

How can I get Bruce Springsteen's guitar tone - said no one ever. That's like asking how to sing like Lou Reed.

I think of Prince before Springsteen when thinking "telecaster". Plus Prince was a better player and songwriter.

$100 guitar would probably sound better than this junk. Unless you do serious modifications . I think people like them to feel alternative and cool rather than playability. I had ones a MIJ fender strat from the late 80s and it was total junk. Instead I bought a charvel with JB in the bridge and the difference was night and day.
