Oh yeah. Especially that scene at the bazaar, after seeing the centipedes. He just turns to the camera and goes supernova *out of nowhere* , going into crying and then immediately coming back to normal. I was so annihilated by that.

@@goji9000 I have to contextualize - I was in a middle of an LSD trip at a time of watching "Naked Lunch". Re-watching it, in fact. Wanted to break my mind a little. And then that scene happens and I was like *"This is ULTRA weird, because up to this point literally everything made sense to me, but this... I have no fucking clue why, how or what I just witnessed."* Retrospectively I got to say that MAYBE it's him getting emotional over finding a drug ? I'm incredibly boring when not under substances, so I guess I'm completely wrong on that one.

I once watched this movie while high on LSD to feel and see its effects and this scene stuck the most out, when he starts telling him their talking telepathically you can feel the room stop of all energy, your heart beats fast and you start to sweat. Your insides start to bulid up and it becomes hard to breathe. You cant break your eyes away no matter how hard you try. The pink glow around him builds and builds until you feel intense like the conversation and suddenly it all stops when the conversation returns to normal, you sigh a sigh of relief just as Bill does because you felt the exact same way he did.

Dude. What. The fuck. If you really made this post a year ago then you were basically writing it near to the days *I did the same* during !!! Although you know what stuck with me the most ? That simple talk in a cafeteria, of those friends of his, about rewriting/recensoring thoughts ? For some reason it made me laugh like a maniac, because both points of view make perfect sense and there is no consensus.

Absolutely. But let’s be clear - the book is absolutely impossible to *actually* adapt into a film. It’d be the most obscene and incomprehensible film in existence… “Green Elephant” and “Pink Flamingo” would feel like children’s cartoons in comparison.

@@lowserver2 I agree. I want to give it another try in maybe a few months, because I did like the weird vibes this film had going for it. I'm a fan of both Cronenberg and Burroughs' respective works, but this film didn't do much for me. At least not on this first viewing. As with you, I was mainly bored with it.
