I was diagnosed with clinical schizophrenia as a kid, and I can say, this annimation portrays psychotic paranoia perfectly
@Akyro---X2 жыл бұрын
It really does! Couldn't agree more
@thundermothstudio5446 Жыл бұрын
Yeah. If you look closely in the original story as well, the narrator seems to suffer from some form of schizophrenia: he's driven up the wall by something completely inconsequential and resorts to violence because of it, can't tell fantasy from reality and hears things that aren't real, such as the old man's heart after killing him. Poe's original novel is the story of a man who's already mentally ill but drives himself more and more insane through his own guilt, and this animation portrays that perfectly.

For the people not understanding the story let me explain it to you. The old man is the madman's father but the madman can't simply stand the sight of his eye. So among careful thinking, the madman decides to kill his father, JUST to get rid of the eye. The madman decides to check in on his father for eight nights, each night VERY cautiously opening the door. On the eighth night the madman takes an hour to open the door just enough so he can poke his head round the door. He opens the lantern ever so slightly that a thin ray of light could get out and he shines it on the old man's eye. His hand slips, resulting in a noise, waking the old man up. The madman takes his chance while the eye is open, and suffocates his father to rid himself of the "Evil Eye". He cunningly takes away some floorboards after dismembering the body of his father and puts the parts under the floor. He then proceeds to fit the floorboards back in place so it looks like nothing happened. A neighbour hears a shriek of the old man as the madman suffocates him. Therefore the neighbour calls police as he is worried something has happened. The police come through the door and search the house very carefully. After thorough searching, the madman convinces the police he's innocent by lying and having a good manner. As the police and himself sit down for tea, a chat and a laugh, the madman is so guilty, he begins to hear the living heart beat, created by his guilt. (Hence the name "The Tell-Tale Heart). As the heart beat is only made by his guilt, the police offers do not hear the beat, the madman is slowly driven by the heart's beat into frustration, and he thinks the police officers are aware of his guiltiness and are simply mocking him. This results in the madman lifting away the floorboards, lifting up the head and showing the police officers. They immediately throw him in a mental institution with a straight jacket as they believe he is mad beyond repair. I hope this cleared things up for people. xx

Tell Tale Heart has always been a favorite of mine from Poe..the animation you added to it went along with it well. I like that it has that 'eerie/crazed' drawing style in the animation. It fits Poe's words perfectly.

Stop it! Stop it! Oh, oh can't you hear it? Yes I did it! I did it! I took the boots! They're here, under the floorboard! Oh please, make it stop! It's the squeaking of the hideous boots! I'm sorry but I can't take the infernal squeaking no more! [lifts up the Krusty Krab and grabs the boots, with everyone screaming inside. Walks into the kitchen and puts the boots into a vat of grease which shrinks them and eats them. Comes out of the kitchen and let's out a burp] The deed is done.
