I lost my dad at the age of 73 , last night , this was his favorite song because it reminded him of his love for his wife (my mom) , I am absolutely floored but music always helps , and he continually told his grandchildren how Motown music was the greatest music that has ever been made. RIP Dad , we love you and you will live on in our thoughts and hearts and souls forever 🙏🏻🙏🏻

When I was 15 years old, I was hospitalized in a psych ward for a failed suicide attempt. In the ward were a lot of kids who were gang affiliated and lost. They would fight with each other, and sometimes the orderlies wouldn't step in to stop it. I saw a lot of crazy things in there. But one day, we were having what I think was a music therapy group, and they threw this song on. Everybody sang together. It was incredible. I'm 30 now, and this song takes me back there every single time I hear it.

One of the greatest songs of all time. It was one of Eddie Kendricks best vocal performances. He was actually the first lead singer for The Temptations. Without his voice they would have never been the same.

This was my baby brother’s favorite song when we were growing up as children, he had an old soul at the age of 6. His favorite part was the chorus that he would sing 🎶 to. He was killed in July at the age of 53. This song hits me so differently now more than ever. I still can’t believe my baby brother is no longer with us. 😢

I remember the day this song it the air waves, we were all enjoying the greatest time in American history, through music. This is something I knew, that the artist of the 50's 60's 70's were changing this country with the power of real dynamic undeniable talent.
The last song that Eddie Kendricks and Paul Williams sang on before they left the group. The other members were Otis Williams,Melvin Franklin, and Dennis Edwards. It was their third #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. It was also #1 on the R&B chart. Otis said in his 1988 autobiography of the group that this song was “Eddie‘a finest moment”.

Oh my God I truly can't say enough about this song . I was trying to look up the composer_arranger(musical), I have looked him up before, I believe he's from England. I am not a music critic. I have no musical affiliations. This is a shout out to Mrs.Yates, ( whom I'm quite sure has passed on)Columbian Elementary School, 3rd grade Music class. Mrs.Yates would make us Listen to Peter and the Wolf, and we would have to ,"interpret" what was happening int the orchestration. It seems like we listened to this classical piece daily. We, as students were required to know every section of the orchestra, and the placement of each instrument. I am giving you this information to attest to the quality of learning in some of Detroit public schools in the 60's. This song is simply divine. Please listen to it with a Bose or comparable speaker. You can hear every note. This piece to me, is absolutely one of the Greatest pieces of music I have ever heard. It literally brings tears to my eyes. Not only the Arrangement, but the arrangement with the melody and the angelic voices of the temptations led by Eddie Kindricks. Oh my God. I could not imagine the choirs in Heaven to be more Enchanting, more beautiful or more Angelic... the notes. The harmonies, the crescendo, in several places. Oh my God , the french horns. The harps. The violins. This is no less than HEAVENLY... MY OPINION. THIS IS THE VERY BEST MUSICAL PEICES. MOTOWN EVER PRODUCED.( NORMAN WHITFIELD, AND BARRETT STRONG, COMPPOSED THE SONG, BUT THE MUSICAL. ARRANGER I AM NOT ABLE TO LOCATE HIS NAME RIGHT NOW. AND ANOTHER FAVORITE IS "I'LL TRY SOMETHING NEW" BY SMOKEY ROBINSON & THE MIRACLES, POSSIBLY ARRANGED BY;SONNY BURKE, ANOTHER OF MOTOWN'S VERY GIFTED COMPOSERS .

I heard this in my dream today so I searched, I was in a mall full of all my old school mates and people my age (around24 to 27). I was walking in a clothing store and I met this type of girl I’ve always wanted badly , we didn’t know eatchother but we embraced eachother despite. We continued to hold hands walking passed eatchother as this song echoed in the air and I walked away with a sad and longing feeling in my gut , and all my old schoolmates watching me in surprise. I woke up with the same lingering feeling until now.
