I think the Bible reveals messages to every generation about the sins that existed in our past are still present in today’s societies. By understanding the Bible, we will come to find out that these types of people/problems still exist in our present lives. Personally, working for some corporations in today’s society is somewhat only a little better than being a slave to Pharos, we all want a freedom that benefits all human beings:).

In Bronze Age Egypt, the worst curse you could ever visit on someone was to never say their name again. To them a name had power, a name told a person's story and whenever you say their name, their remembered in their conception of the afterlife. To never say their name again was to deny them an afterlife. In The Ten Commandments (1956) we see Seti enact this on Moses. While this is an artistic liberty on DeMille's part, it is a good reminder that even after 3,000 years, Moses' name still lives on while the majority of Pharaohs' names have more or less faded into history in spite of all the wealth and power they commanded in life. God is not haunted by the vastness of eternity, God is eternity.

I'm neither Jewish or Christian and even I know that the separate sons of Noah gave rise to separate tribes of men (in the Torah/OT that is). One son specifically gave rise to the semitic peoples, one to Asians etc etc. Of course such talk is pseudo explanatory fiddle faddle exactly of the kind that religion uses to simply vastly more complex issues of ethnic diversity. Just as the ancient pagans assumed forces of nature to derive from separate gods before monotheistic religions simplified this further into just saying one deity was responsible for all - then ironically science goes backwards and makes it more complex again. Monotheistic religion is basically peak simplification of the natural world - this is why monotheistic religions spread so easily, less things to learn so it is easier to indoctrinate people of all ages with their dogma.

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: *For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.*

1. Who/What is “God”? The Earth is a small “dot” within the Milky Way Galaxy which is only 1 of many Galaxies. 2. When you speak of “Egypt” are you speaking of Ancient Black Khemet (Africa). 3. When you speak of “Pharaoh”, who are you referring to? Are you were referring to the European Army that raided Khemet (Egypt) and robbed it, killed the black Africans and forced them to appoint him as Pharaoh. There’s so much information available today, that I’m trying to cross reference what the various groups are teaching from their perspectives.

Remember everyone, the lord never laid a finger upon any of the people in Egypt. It was their gods that he attacked, and that is what caused the plagues.
@mnomadvfx
@mnomadvfx 3 жыл бұрын
What gods? If YHWH was always the only true god then what was there to attack in the first place but the ignorance of the Egyptians? This is where logic fells religious dogma so often. Basic reasoning reveals that dogma has large logical gaps because it assumes you just switch off your brain and repeat it verbatim to the next fool in line for their own indoctrination without ever taking the time to analyse what is basically the literary works of several men copied, edited, recopied and edited and copied countless times - and that's after it was passed verbally for multiple generations in all likelihood dramatically polluting it's baseline purity and accuracy. Biblical literature are propaganda tools written by priests to control the weak minded and the poor into doing all of their work for them with a smile on their faces without rebelling. This was true with the Torah and the beginnings of Israel, and it was true of the edited OT and NT for the Christian bible which allowed a waning military power of the Roman empire to retain a significant influence on the populace of the empire.

@sylviareed80
@sylviareed80 4 жыл бұрын
I'm afraid you have misunderstood somethings along the way, perhaps. The serpent is a metaphor representing some ideas around harnessing energy with body and soul. The Torah is full of metaphors. Maybe the Rabbi or someone with more knowledge than me ( that's a lot of people) will also weigh in on this.

You can say everyone is the son or daughter of Kayin (Cain) but in the end the Father and Mother of the Jewish people starts with Avraham and Sara (Abraham and Sarah) they chose to follow G-D, they chose in a world of corruption and idolatry, to seek out the One True Creator and follow in His ways. From them came Yitzchak (Isaac) who married Rivka (Rebecca) and the line follows down to Ya'akov ( Jacob) from there come the 12 Tribes who later accepted, in an official way, the Torah. The Torah is the blueprint of the World, it's not just a collection of stories, history or laws. The point in the end is that someone can come from evil (Avraham came from Terach -who worshiped and sold idols) yet we can choose life of Holiness

Yes, they were called the children of Israel or Hebrews at that time, not Jews. That term did not become prevalent until around the time of Esther.
