The first time up to the Tent this October was busy. Deer stands, loading the wood bin, scouting for deer. Snow and cold weather was what was outside but nice and toasty in The Tent. Zach and I head back up this coming weekend and deer hunting is coming fast.

Awesome awesome, you know Joe I've never ever in my whole life ever wanted to emulate another person lifestyle, but I really enjoy yours. The setup you have at the tent, the engery you possess, the close relationship of your father and yourself, the children you've raised, and most of all the positive and charismatic attitude towards people sure make you in the top ten people I look up to in my personal life and what's funny is I've never met you in person. I really envy what you do for your following and it's highly inconceivable that I could expect anything else less. Thank you for bringing us into your journey thought your videos, it really is therapeutic to be able to just sit down, relaxe and enjoy the time you have allowed us to spend with you at the tent and the beauty of the surroundings that make your channel so great. Thank you.

I love your videos.. especially the lake photos from the tent, you pause enough so that the viewer can take in every detail of the photo, most just zip through and in that way you see nothing, but you do it so perfectly no matter what you are photographing... You obviously love the tent when you are out there and it is so obvious. You eat so much but not an extra pound adds to you, but you are like the energizer bunny and that is the secret success to you being slim and trim.. mmmmmmm I still wonder if there is anything you can't do? You are just amazing and each video I watch I find out what else you can do and it is never ending and that is part of what makes you so interesting and wonderful to watch.. Love from Canada

I asked a similar question as we see how lovely his dad’s cabin is but the tent is very basic and doesn’t feel finished. I just wondered why he’s not finished the tent off to a better standard. I was thinking maybe as he just does hunting keeping it basic fits with that.

Joe: Take 10 minutes and listen to this audio recording. I'd like to hear your opinion of it. Assuming this is recorded in the woods, and not done in a recording studio, what do you think this could be? You're a hunter and I'd like your opinion. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pp66iaNpn6Z-pas You can hear wolves/coyotes during parts of it but whatever else is howling.... ?? The fact you can hear wolves too makes comparison easy and sets apart whatever else is vocalizing. I don't know, man. This sounds like nothing else I've heard in Minnesota. I don't think it's moose, bear, elk, human, cougar or other cat, cows, birds. I'm not saying this is Sasquatch. I don't know what it is. Can be only 2 possibilities, either a hoax done in a recording studio or something in the woods we don't know what it is.

@Vic: It could be that for all I know. As I said, if this is a real recording in the woods, and not a hoax in done in a recording studio, then there is something running around the woods of northern Minnesota we don't know about. I don't think that's a moose, bear, elk, cougar, or any other known wild animal.

All these years of being told to go low fat and now the new "trendy diet" is fats. So those delicious fatty home raised pork steaks you had there are diet steaks! You mentioned how lean factory farm/store meat is well that will probably slowly change. Lack of fats is more dangerous than having them! Taste better too!

Looks like you are getting close to the season start.. Good job.. I like the Tent that's quite the place.. Here is a tip about fogged up camera lens that helped me .. When you come into a warmer place after exposing your camera to the cold, right away put the camera inside a zip-loc bag and close it.. Just let it sit for a little while..

I came in from out in the forest all day in and out of the snow and had one of my pro 35mm body's in use all day.. Within minutes of going inside of my house my camera was wet on the outside just sitting on the table . I wiped it down on the outside of the body and lens but the fogging was on the inside of the lens .. It was hours for it to clear up.. I became worried about moisture inside forming so i asked my camera dealer , that's how i learned the zip-loc bag trick, it works well... I don't always carry the camera inside my coat depending on the lens mounted i'm using .. But i can put it under my gore-tex shell when it's raining to protect it ... That may help you in cold temps where you spend much of your time hunting and getting ready to hunt ..

I will tell you what, Joe the pork steaks in Florida where I live are pretty sad looking compared to your's! Do you think you will ever build a cabin to replace the tent? Maybe you need to build a lean to with open sides to keep firewood from rain an snow. Question pouring water down sink drain where does it go, just out on the ground? I envy your place in tent area! Deer season just around the corner, will be ready for next video!
