I love this audio. When I first saw The Terminator on DVD I was shocked at how different it sounded. The scene where Terminator bursts through the 1st Sarah Connor's door and kills her just sounds wrong. And the shootout at the police station sounds vastly different. Obviously a new sound mix is usually a good thing about a movie rereleased on DVD or BR but it just doesn't work for this movie.

After the initial 5 shots from the Ithaca, the T-800 returned with its volley as Reese was ducking out of that hail. He's seen firing one shot after there was a short pause, probably got one shell loaded in. After a few moments of him running and dolphin diving to another piece of cover, he could have had reloaded another 5 shots right before springing back out to unload the last 5. As for the Uzi, yeah lmao. Not everything can be realistic and this was 1977 where you don't really see much reloading in movies of the time in general. Just an infinite ammo cheat code. Commando comes to mind.

The Terminator is possibly the greatest "B-movie" ever made. By that i mean, it is the greatest low-budget sci-fi ever produced. The Terminator is a great inspiration for future filmmakers. Cameron showed us what can be possible on a small budget and its freaking amazing. T2 on the other hand is the greatest action movie ever made. Cameron showed us whats possible once youve established yourself in the industry. And its freaking phenomenal. I just wish we could get a new 5.1 remix for The Terminator. The .45 longslide should sound like a freaking cannon. The audience should be just as shocked and stunned by that weapon as the 35 year old Sarah Connors neighbors after the Terminator blew her head off. Theres an interesting deleted scene revealing the aftermath where Sarah Connors neighbors are running around in complete panic mode. But the newest 5.1 remix makes all of these bad**s weapons sound like squeaky toys, including the shotguns. You cant feel anything from a sound effect like that.

Here's an idea. Since the people who write the discs can do whatever they want with the sound, make the mono track come out of all of the speakers. Depending on which system you have, you'll have either two, four, five, or seven speakers playing the track. The subwoofer (if you have one) wouldn't be used. Fix the pitch too. And while they're at it, get rid of the blue hue, and restore the original credits. And play with the framerate so it looks more like the tape. The tape looked significantly better (and more realistic) than the DVD or Blu-Ray. I'd buy it.

As for the framerate, the DVD and Blu-Ray are correct, but it looks terrible. If you capture the Blu-Ray, (using a capture card,) you can change the soundtrack, delete the blue hue, and mess with the frame count so that it looks more like it should. I have been trying to track down the original VHS for a while now. You find it now and then, but the price is ridiculous. It has great picture, great sound, and guess what? NO EDITS! It has the mono soundtrack (and it comes out of all speakers) it doesn't have that blue hue, and the end is unedited (the credits were changed sometime in the late 80s.) If anybody has a Thorn EMI Terminator they want to part with, I'm in!

@@2016memesiguess Nope, James Cameron does it to all of his movies, including both Terminator movies, Titanic, and Aliens. Why couldn’t they just leave it alone? It was fine as it was.
