I love the moment Julia snaps. She was going to put up with it and deal, until that ill mannered tourist uttered those two deadly words. And then, "that's itttt"

Here's one Yankee, flag-flying Republican that cheered when Julia finally had ENOUGH and gave the history lesson and the marching orders to the intruding slobs! Brava!

My role model - since I am of the Carter's of Georgia and live in a historical house tour town in the south - I hope she is my kin - she played this part so well.

@applesauce2100 Originally no. But after 1860s, many Northern occupants stayed in Atlanta. Same thing happened to the Northern Virginia/DC area. They never left since.

im from Richmond, Virginia and when I visited Atlanta in 2003 it did not feel even remotely southern to me. Ironically, I live well north of Atlanta and we're a lot more like the "old South". Although Atlanta was never really a truly Southern city. It was settled by northerners mostly.

It was a great sitcom until the last two seasons. Season 6 had some good episodes and season 7 was a train wreck pure and simple.

I don't think so. Speaking as a Black man, I think her point was whether it's people like Scarlett O'Hara or Mammy, to overly mythologize history is to do a disservice to the people who lived it.
