Podcast is Called : ASN Humans Are Space Orcs , HFY and other stories
--------------
This Story is Classified as HFY or Humanity Feck, Yea , but what does the Mean?
-------------
HFY is a story/series that takes a “human element” in either humanity or an “other” (race/species or object) that exists in a “setting” (future or other world/universe) with varying levels of culture, technology, society and history that help show in some shape or form the potential good or bad for humanity’s race/culture. In These stories Humans are often referred to as Human, Humanity, Deathworlder, Hellwolder in reference to the human planet of origin , Earth. This planet is seen by most of the universe as a place where only death and chaos can survive.
-------------
Taken from the FAQ of the r/HFY subreddit.
Humans Are Space Orcs (HASO) or Humans Are (Fantasy Race) Are used as a guide when writing.
In these Stories we normally View humans like the other races view orcs in a Fantasy Novel. We (Humans) share the same characteristics and personalities as orcs. Humans are normally treated as the outsiders and barbarians. Humans tend to be underestimated as well in these stories. Unlike Humanity Feck Yea , these don't always put a positive spin on humans\humanity sometimes looking at the darker side of human and humanity from the perspective of aliens.

Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, who planned the attack on Pearl Harbor would reportedly write in his diary, “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.”

He was quite right. He also begged not to start the war, and when ordered to plain the attack said (something like it): "I will fight to the best of my abilities, but I can't be hold accountable for anything after the first six months." And he was quite right again.

The Favja : Humans, you are weak and harmless. We'll conquer you and make your space ours. The Humans : We are peaceful, NOT harmless. There is a huge difference. The harmless can't do harm even when he tries as much as possible. The peaceful have CHOSEN to not do harm, have chosen to not wage war, but is more than able to do both. We are not harmless. Far from it. VERY far from it. Now, let us show you what we can do but have chosen to avoid.

Some of the nicest, most restrained people you know. They restrain their anger because they dislike the results of letting that side run free. BUT there is also the desire to let that side free just *one more time*

If you have been through a truly violent fight, and at the end were the one still standing, you rode that wild anger, and could think back and realize just how close you were to committing things that could not be taken back, fixed, healed, or repaired, then you may know you never want to return to that state of mind. But, you know it is there, waiting.

I have, over my life, put 7 people into the hospital with my bare fists and raw anger. The beast is NEVER caged...it is simply laying there, waiting for a reason to let loose once again. Good man only let it loose when there is a GOOD reason, it doesn't make it any less monstrous. You WILL remember the damage you cause. Those that see you do it will never look at you the same way again. People who knew you as the quiet kind guy will see that monster behind your eyes and never look at you as just the kind guy ever again. Even if you protected them, they will have a hint of fear when they look at you. Oh sure, they love the large guy that steps up and intimidates. The normal guy that stands up, intimidation doesn't work and they attack him? That guy who just opens up and begins breaking bones and causing injuries that require therapy to heal from? That guy will be feared by those he protects because the monster was shown in the light of day. Being the guy to protect others is good, but it is never like the movies or shows... those you protect WILL fear you after they see you emotionlessly take people out.

I was lucky enough to never have been in war but my father was. Before i was in high school i was told i was the man of the house. My dad was not yet dead but i still had to act as if he was for he was gone for those years. What the soldiers suffered is impossible to imagine for a civilian but the army brats know when their hollowed out family returns the war doesn’t end when the deployment does nor does it only affect those who signed up for it.

If you start a war against merchants, speed is essential, if you can't immediately take out their industry, you should have never started it, and if you fail, surrender as fast as possible and pray you haven't irreparably pissed them off in the process. Of course these guys were pretty much doomed as soon as they touched the boats. For one, it gave the Terrans plenty of time to start preparing even before war was declared.

Admiral Yamamoto was against starting war with United States. Claimed if Japan doesn't win in 6 months, Americans will turn tables on them. Japanese victories lasted exactly 6 months. On 7th month, Japan suffered crushing defeat at Midway, losing 4 fleet carriers and some of their most experienced crews.
