This stance is a bit shortsighted. Jesus himself said that he must needs be handed over to authority and crucified. It's by his death- the death of God in the flesh - that we are saved. Had Pilate not allowed it to happen and things progressed in some other manner, we might not have the victory over death and the lord of the dead that we have. God guided Pilate's decisions. He was a pawn. A very necessary pawn.

Pilate went to Jerusalem to maintain peace during the festival.He was told that the population had welcomed Jesus as their long awaited for messiah king. So much wrong with this video. Jesus Barranas wasn't a convicted criminal. He led a rebellion against Rome and lost. Hardly seems like a man to let go in lieu of a man that just preached.
