I think the main three having the gifts of Oz becoming their character flaws would be an interesting story upon itself. They could learn how to control their newfound gifts or make it so that they're not hurting others. The Lion is TOO brave and thus it's causing himself and others to get hurt. He needs to learn to be cautious again but not overly cautious like he was. The Tin Man is overly emotional now or maybe so kind due to his heart that he's become kind of a sensitive doormat and needs to learn how to put his foot down. Or be mean to be nice sometimes. The Scarecrow is now super smart but maybe he's got that "To be fair you have to have a large IQ to understand Oz" sort of mentality that makes him come off as pretentious. He needs to learn that being smart is fine and so it being proud of it, but boasting and acting like your king because of it is going to make you seem like a jerk. Dorothy returns to help with the flaws but the Jester, being a Trickster, uses this to his advantage. "Hey Lion. You're brave and strong, right? Why don't you show it by jumping off that cliff into that small pool of water. Everyone will be impressed." "Hey Tin Man. My poor soldiers are in need of your good heart and kind nature. Could you take care of them and maybe guide them?" "Hey Scarecrow. You're so smart, I bet you could become the new ruler of Oz. Turn it into a bustling Utopia? Everyone will LOVE you!" Maybe he has them turn against Dorothy and when they inevitably do, she feels the need to return home until she realizes that her friends still need her. In the end, Jester is defeated, the three learn that they can adore their gifts but there is nothing wrong with having the old sides of them still in tact. For Lion, be brave but be cautious still. For Tin Man, be kind but be independent. For Scarecrow, be smart but in be smart in both mind and heart. Dorothy would even learn a lesson in helping others realize their flaws or building them up. Edit: Over 1000 likes? Thank you all!! Glad you liked it, guys.

The way I see it, the wizard's gifts did nothing. In the original movie, scarecrow didn't have a brain, yet was the one to come up with all the plans. By the way, the land of china people is actually from the original book (part of a pretty long sequence of going south to find Glinda after the Wizard leaves). They're described as no bigger than Dorothy's knee, and she tries to take the princess home in her basket. Apparently though they like living in their own little country (surrounded by a wall, yes) because if they ever leave they become stiff and lifeless just like china figures on a mantel. Also some of them are explicitly described as having been broken and re-glued. Including a clown who's always breaking himself doing acrobatics or something and has been *mended in a hundred places*. The one thing that irks me about this kind of animation (and they still do this today), is that when characters move, the characters all... over-move. The characters either move like they've been smoking crack and drinking gallons of coffee. Even the calm characters can't even turn their head normal. An example of this: Just look at Dorothy when she turns her head and while she's talking here. Her head doesn't just turn. It starts turning.. then her head drops to her chest... then it looks up as high as her chin can go as it goes through the turning arc, like she's swinging her head instead of turning it. NO ONE moves like this. It's an annoying trope to me, and I don't know why. They can't make a single movement without some kind of.. over-movement. I don't know why this bothers me, but it seems to be a trait of almost all 3D animated movies. Characters absolutely cannot speak without swiveling their heads all over the place either. Even Dorothy in this video is like this. It's like they're animated Power Rangers. I would assume that they think that over-moving gives more life to the characters, but to me, it just makes them look more like soul-less robots trying to pretend to be human. It's either that or they think that kids won't watch things without crazy movement all over the damn screen. Like they think kids are toddlers who requite keys jingled in front of their faces constantly.

@pinkghost25154 жыл бұрын
@@patrickkelmer6290 Not all should die and it's good to try new things and experiment but people should care more about making good content instead of just making something decent or meh and being just cash grabby. I love animation and comedy movies but if I see something that looks more like a cash grab and doesn't give a shit about being good I stay far away from it. I love a lot of the older Disney films but they seem like they just want to cash in on nostalgia now with its multiple sequels nobody cares about and the crappy live action movies. This is something we see a lot though in media that is targeted to children nowadays because they don't feel like they need to try to make something good because their target audience is too young to even notice or care so they make shitty animation with annoying characters while people like Jim Henson, Fred Rogers etc wanted to make something special even if they got tons of cash they still made some of the best content. We need more content like that instead of this. I wish there were more puppet shows and animated shows with a mix of live action that cared about what kids want and money but not just money I think when kids grow up they will appreciate that more

What’s weird is that every single sequel of the movie never bothers to actually source from the original book’s successor: Ozma of Oz.
@SimonMoon5 Жыл бұрын
Some of them do. It doesn't happen often but sometimes. Also, the second book is actually the Marvelous Land of Oz, not Ozma of Oz (the third book). There's the Shirley Temple version and also the movie The Wonderful Land of Oz (the Rifftrax version of which is on KZbin). But it is weird. Another rumored Oz movie (don't know if it happened because I don't keep up with all the Oz stuff) was going to adapt the second novel but with Dorothy as the main character somehow. Anyway, the third book (Ozma of Oz) was done as a movie called Return to Oz.

The biggest sin for me is how they jump like 8 WHOLE DECADES FROM THE ORIGINAL! Caution tape, cars, modern clipboards. None of those existed in the late 18 hundreds/ early 19 hundreds that the Wizard of oz was set in. It really shows just how little thought was put into this movie. Even as a kid I noticed these glaring inconsistencies. It really sets a tone for how little the writers cared
