They mentioned this movie in MASH, and I thought it was one of those made-up terrible movies the camp would often end up with, because good films were usually reserved for top brass in cushy positions, and the concept sounded so surreal I thought to myself "Man, what was the writer smoking!", but then, 15 years later, Brad is reviewing it??? Thanks for enlightening me!

So they decided to have a western made entirely of short people but use an established western set, makes perfect sense

I would legit like to see some sort of remake of this starring Peter Dinklage and/or other actors with dwarfism which is treated like a more serious exploitation western like DJANGO UNCHAINED, where Tiny Town is now a section of Texas during the late 1800s that gets sectioned off for little people who are deemed inhuman monsters by the narrow-minded "normal" citizens of Texas. And where the 30s original was modeled like a John Wayne western movie, this remake will be modeled like a Sam Peckinpah western movie, complete with an epic shootout at the border of Tiny Town against the enormous posse of Mayor Addicus Clementine (played by Josh Brolin). When Dinklage finally gets his revenge on the fascist mayor, he shoots off both of the mayor's legs with a Winchester and says to his dying victim: "Now you get to die...knowing how we have to live. Thanks for visiting Tiny Town..." *Dinklage passes by his pony to instead hop onto the Mayor's horse.* "...hope you enjoyed your stay." Mayor Clementine: "Goddamn you, Buck Lawson, git back here n' finish me awf...ya GODDAMN COWARD!!! GIT BACK HERE, YOU TWO-AND-A-HALF-FOOT TALL MOTHERFU--" *cue GOOD BAD AND THE UGLY theme as Buck Lawson rides his horse away from the exploding wreckage*

Two things. One, that fight at the end is actually somewhat better than most fight scenes of the era, I'm half certain the villain cold cocked the hero there. Second, in the cast list one of the listings say 'the vampire.' I was half expecting this to be some kind of Dracula Vs. Billy the Kid or something. I am disappointed movie.
@johnkirby89395 жыл бұрын
Confused me too, then my girlfriend pointed out that old timey femme fatale characters in movies were called Vamps. Probably referred to the saloon singer the bad guy slapped.
@donaldpetkus16375 жыл бұрын
The Vampire in the credits refers to Nita Krebs who played the dance hall girl who gets punched (off screen) by the villain. Vampire (Or Vamp) was a common term for a sleazy female who preyed on men for their money etc.

Great, now that he mentioned Yojimbo I ALMOST want to see an all-little person cast of that movie as well. Well to be fair, if there was ever a director that could make such a concept dignified, it would've been Akira Kurasawa.

Back in the early 1990s my local PBS station ran a weekly "bad movie" every Friday night. One time it was going to be _The Terror of Tiny Town_ and I was looking forward to it, having heard about it but never seen it. But the airing was preempted for live coverage of Congress debating sending out the military in what became Operation Desert Shield. Soon after they cancelled the series and I never got to see it.

I remember first seeing this movie in a music video as a kid, I never got around to actually seeing the movie. The country singer has it playing throughout various points in the music video. The song is called Small Town Saturday Night by Hal Ketchum. I suppose it kind of fits the film.

Honestly, this was kind of entertaining to watch just because of the short cast. Something about their height vs the camera and their proportions made it look 'different' and not so stale.

Fun fact, a lot of the little people in this movie went on to play the Munchkins in "Wizard of Oz", including members of the Lollipop Guild. Sadly a few of the actors were really perverted towards Dorothy (Judy Garland), making catcalls to her.

Child Bride was the one where the cast said they needed a shower after watching it. Kevin Murphy asked Mike Nelson not to mention the title during the interview for fear that people would track it down and watch it. Even Frank Conniff, whose job was to screen the movies for potential selections, called it the worst film he had screened for the show.
