It’s hard to find workers with passion and skill for their trades. Nice to see people with talent and patience. No complaints just quality craftsmanship. I’m sure all those whose tools you produce can appreciate you.

I took leather working in HS and enjoyed it very much. Later in life, I took care of the Princes who were instrumental at the King Ranch. Later, my husband and I moved to Kingsville and he worked at the King Ranch for a short time. To me, I thought Kingsville was quintessentially Texas. I've lived all across the area from Corpus Christi to Bandera and now Sierra Blanca, but Kingsville was simply "more Texan". There is a spirit that embodies and defines what it means to be Texas and Texan.

I grew up in Kingsville, from birth to 27 years old. The Saddle Shop used to be called The Running W Saddle Shop, and was in a small building on 6th and Kennedy St. When I was 14, one of the Kinenos, Lalo Mendietta, made me a horse hair hat band, made from Mr. San Peppy’s tail trimmings. I’ve worn a King Ranch brush jacket for 57 years, I own 7 of them. The ranch has undergone a lot of changes over the years, some good, some bad, but it’s still the biggest and the best.

I'm sure that job pays very well. Train several apprentices and pay them well enough to want to stay.

Come by to south Atx and hit up Valentina’s 11500 Manchaca Rd 78745. The breakfast tacos are worth it, they come with brisket.
